Ledisi, Musiq Soulchild, Raheem DeVaughn up for Grammys

Some of your favorite BET J artists are nominated for upcoming Grammys and are few of them are a bit surprisingly – I mean that in a good way.
Who would have expected R&B underdogs such as Ledisi, Raheem DeVaughn, Dwele and Corrine Bailey Rae to get nods? Hell, Corrine’s “Like a Star” is nominated for “Song of the Year,” while Ledisi’s Lost & Found is gunning for “Best R&B Album” and “Best New Artist.”
Of course, we all kinda’ knew that Alicia Keys, Angie Stone, Amy Winehouse, Herbie Hancock, Joshua Redman, Mary J. Blige, Fantasia, Jill Scott, and Chrisette Michele would get nominated.
But Raheem DeVaughn’s “Woman” and Musiq Soulchild’s “B.U.D.D.Y.” for “Best Male R&B Performance?”
And check it: Vikter Dupliax, Dwele, Alice Smith, and Meshell Ndegeocello competing for “Best Urban/Alternative Performance?” Wow!!!
There may just be justice in the music world after all. Congratulations to all!

I am so happy for Fantasia. Last night on Entertainment Tonight they mentioned American Idols who were nominated and never bothered to include Fantasia. I’m not surprised though. Her success and longevity will be reward enough.
It’s about time that my man Raheem DeVaughn got the recognition he deserves. His new anthem “Woman” is just one of many songs that he pays homage to “the Queens!” He his gifted and original; thus, deserving of his Grammy nomination and the award for that matter!!! Congrats, Raheem!!!
i was pleasantly surprised at the love that soul music was shown with these nods. i’m particularly rooting for Ledisi, Chrisette Michele and Alice Smith. the wide range of styles reflected in all of these nominations shows that good music is out ther–i’m tired of people complaining that there isn’t. people just need to dig a little deeper for it. it makes for a more rewarding experience. good luck to everyone in February.

Every now and then the Grammy voting members get it RIGHT. LEDISI is destined to be a legend. No one is more deserving of these nominations as she. She has paid her dues and now (hopefully) reaping the rewards. Stay tuned!
About time the REAL singers got the recognition they deserve! Musiq definitely needs to win cuz the man is just Talented. Mary J and Jill of course should rule of course. I’m soo happy that they are nominated!!! Congrats for them!

I mean I already know Alicia Keys, MJB, Jill Scott, Angie Stone, J.Holiday, Chrisette Michele, and Amy Winehouse came through like hurricanes this year, and they brought it!!! I CAN’T WAIT for MAXWELL though, my heart is ready. Raheem, I can’t wait until the next album I’m on it!
Like I say, {Music Is Still Cool} And most will learn, that even tho these artist did not outsell their rivals in the biz, they are still seen as future music stars, (at least they want them to be)And well deserved. I hope that other awards shows follow the lead and stop giving the nod to fad music, or just music that sells (to the kids mostly) without any real content.
I love Musiq Soulchild. His music is on a whole different level. He’s got that neo-soul thing going on. He’s been under-rated way too long. I saw him live, and he sounds the same as on the radio, and t.v. High notes and all. Pay attention to him people, his songs come with a message.
