Stevie Wonder Wants to ‘Dance with the Stars’
December 16th, 2008
Stevie Wonder has seldom let his blindness hold him back. In fact, the musical genius has made fun of being sightless on a number of occasions. Now, Stevie wants to show that blindness doesn’t necessary translate to clumsiness as he hopes to join the eighth season of Dancing with the Stars.
Keep in mind that, he won’t be the first star contestant to join the show who is physically impaired. In the past, the show has featured deaf actress Marley Matlin and amputee Heather Mills.
According to the New York Daily News, Stevie said during a radio interview: “You’ve got to think. If I have 7 children, I’ve got to be able to dance right?”
OK, fair enough. You can also chalk up all those funky classics such as “I Wish,” “Do I Do” and “Master Blaster (Jammin’)” as evidence of Stevie’s rhythmic acumen. [Side note: Stevie also played drums on a lot of his signature tunes]. So I’m rooting for Stevie’s chance to “dance with the stars.”
What about you? Do you think he’ll make the cut? And if so, do you think that he’ll embarrass himself or pull off another genius move?

I HOPE HIS BLIND ASS DON’T FALL OFF STAGE!!!!!!!
I’m sure he will do very well. I wish him the best. For the the other comment that was made by LYNN. If you don’t have anything good to say then just keep your mouth shut.
GOOD LUCK ! STEVIE!
What if they make him dance with a man?
Please don’t!! I can see the lady dancing with one leg or the deaf lady dancing, but dancing blind!! It may work but I doubt it, but good luck if you do!
WHAT HAPPENS IF HE SLIPS ON A PIECE OF ICE..!!!!!!!?
I think having Stevie Wonder is best thing, he showing them blind can get down to.
The man wrote produced and sang Songs in the key of life along with countless other albums that to this day still inspires. Dancing with the stars will just be a reminder to some how talented this man really is.
Go Stevie . The Sky’s The Limit Quit trying to put limits on him he’s trying to soar.
Stevie you go boy! If you write it we grove to it . if you sing it we sig along and if you dance to it we wil sit and cheer you on Stevie with faith you can move montains and you have shown us this from age 12 to 50 plus . I for one can’t wait to see you dance !
Stevie, with GOD, ALL things are possible.
YOU GO BOY!!!!!!
MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND KEEP YOU.
i think that everyone who had something negative to say about stevie dancing, i’ll come help you pick yo lip up when he wins and it won’t be because the peolpe felt bad for him and let him win its because the man is cold all by his self.

This would be awesome to watch. Stevie Wonder’s got rhythm and it would be nice to see what his partner could work up when dealing with someone who is blind. I would hope hte judges wouldn’t be partial though because of it.
