Who is Sasha Fierce? Is it some rakish drag queen doing his best lip-sync performance of Ru Paul’s “Supermodel (You Better Work)” or some all purple suit donning pimp, wearing platform shoes and a white fur coat? Well it’s neither.
Sasha Fierce is Beyoncé’s new alter-ego that she’ll unveil on her upcoming two disc, I Am . . . Sasha Fierce, according to Billboard magazine. Dropping on Nov. 18, one disc will showcase her pop side with songs written by Amanda Ghost and E. Kidd Bogart, while the other one will highlight her R&B roots with songs produced by Jim Jonsin, Tricky Stewart and Bangladesh.
OK, why am I not all excited? I love the alter-ego name, Sasha Fierce. I just wished that the concept behind it had more imagination than the “pop versus R&B.” Guess I was hoping for something more outlandish like David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust or Janelle Monae’s Cindi Mayweather – you know, something for futuristic and edgy to give justice to the alter-ego’s name. I bet lil sis, Solange could pull off a this off much better.
What are your thoughts?
WHAT IS UP WITH THE HATTERS??? CAN YOU AT LEAST HEAR THE ENTIRE ALBUM BEFORE YOU PAST JUDGEMENT ON THE GIRL. I’M SICK OF HEARING “LIKE A BOY” IS CIARA SONG. NO IT’S NOT! SAME CONCEPT TOTALLY DIFFERNT APPROACH. DAMM…HIP HOP ARTIST SING ABOUT THE SAME EXACT THING EXCLUDING A FEW OF THEM AND YOU ALL WILL GO OUT AND SUPPORT EVERY BIT OF IT BUT YOU ALL ARE HATING ON BEYONCE…WOW!!! AT LEAST SHE HAS TALENT UNLIKE MOST HIP-HOP ARTISTS AND MOST R&B ARTIST. I AGREE WITH ERIKA…BEYONCE DID MENTION HER ALTER-EGO YEARS AGO. WHAT IS STRNG ABOUT THAT???? MOST SINGERS ARE DIFFERENT PEOPLE ON AND OFF STAGE! GET A CLUE
I think the name is very stupid. Beyonce speaking about an alter ego is just crazy. Lets just call it as we see it, when she first hooked up with Jay you could see the change. Jay hit that a$$ something good and she got buck wild.
I like Bey and it appears she has other talents, lets see before folks start hating. There don’t seem to much other tatent out here.
Hello, I think that this album is going to be successful. Everyone is intitled to there on opinion. I think that B has took long enough break, that its great for her to return. What’s even better she has a theme that got everyone in suspence. One single that I’ve heard, is the talk in the town. The message to the song is great for the single women that’s love searching. Being able to be more demanding to there man. Especially when they get out of tack. My example, 5 months ago cert got caught cheating. Mattie forgave him and now he has done it again. Mattie goes out to the club with a couple of her home gurls. Mattie look across the room and see him. He’s all over some girl, but you pay him no attention. He see you and notice a guy has stop to talk to you. Cert see this from across the room. He walk up like he your man. Then that song drop, “If you liked it you should have put a ring on it”. There is so much power in those word. B knew exactly what to hit us ladys with. So B welcome back and can’t wait to get the album.
okay! i’m confused. Sasha Beyonce. Aretha Frankling didn’t come out with no alter ego. Neither did My girl Tina Turner and the way ole boy was ripping into her well thats good cause but they didn’t. they didn’t go theres that no age thing when u tired of yourself u invent someone new. Nobody did but we in the 21st century and BAM something like this.
Beyonce should have called her new cd “I am Mrs.Carter”

I think beyonce’s alter ego is so cool. And for those who claim she is biting others with this alter ego idea, you’re wrong. Since she came out with the Dangerously in Love CD she had an alter ego. She even said it on one of her access granted video shoots, it was baby boy if im not mistaken. She said when she gets nervous on stage SASHA is the one who takes over and delivers those wild and exciting performances. And im not really a die hard fan of beyonce but u have 2 admit that she is a great performer and she always gives it her all.
