Will Motown Release Erykah Badu’s New Album as Scheduled?

Erykah Badu premiered her forthcoming disc, Nu AmErykah (due Feb. 6) at Electric Ladyland studios last week. And word on the streets is that the double-disc is HOT!!!!
The first single, “Honey” (produced by 9th Wonder) is already getting some buzz in the underground realm. Reportedly, the second single, “Soldier 7” is Badu’s favorite joint, as it deals with a young buck, surviving a tough environment and trying to do the right thing.
Indeed, it’s a long-awaited return for Badu since 2003’s lackluster, Worldwide Underground. I’m quite sure Motown knows that many of her fans have been waiting seemingly forever for a new Badu album, but I can’t shake that nagging feeling that Motown will continuously postpone the release of Nu AmErykah like it did the new releases of Mya and Q-Tip.
So folks, we all want Erykah’s new album to drop in February, but given Motown’s shady-ass history for delaying highly anticipated releases, when do you actually expect the album to hit the stores?
