It Was Nas’ Idea

So while the likes of hip-hop’s Ren & Stimpy (Method Man and Redman to ya’ll) declare war on purported trife and lazy women over Nas paying a grip in child support, it seems the man himself isn’t all that worried about the excessive amount.
Why? Because that’s the figure he proposed himself.
That is, according to his lawyer.
On the $55,000 per month Nas has to hand over to Kelis every month in child support and alimony, his attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, told OK! Magazine: “This is the exact same amount that my client offered to pay from the beginning.”
Suddenly “You Owe Me” is playing in my head.
Now, he could be lying to save face, but if true, does that mean everyone will stop taking shots at Kelis for getting that money if Nas is the one handing it out?

I don’t believe Nas lawyer said that or Nas agree to such a deal, if he did your reported story on this matter was very misleading. It seem you would have left out a very important point..

He offer her that because he is a responsible Man….
Maybe that’s what nas offered from the start, but what was Kelis demanding from the start? Offering that much might have been Nas compromise after she started demanding exorbitant amounts. Still, he’s crazy for paying her that much!

Oh please stop w/ the “he’s a good man” crap!! He is a rich man, paying based off his income. That’s what he should be doing, and you don’t get a kudos for taking care of your child……you’re supposed to take care of them…that’s a given!
If he was such a good man, why did he throw a drink in the face of his pregnant wife @ a public event??? PLEASE…no praise for being a parent to your child, that’s what the hell parents do. The deadbeats should be the exception and not the norm!

I don’t think the justice system intent was for women to take advantage of it, it needs to be look at and restructure . Alomony was was intended for stay at home mom who took care of the family and her husband needs. She was given an allowance from her husband and she was to be protected by law if they were to divorce. Kellis was not a sit at home mom, she was and still is capable of having a very suscessful career. The only money Nas should be paying is child support and they both should have equal custody. Well I guest Kellis was right with the line to one of her songs, tricks in the yard.
