Jay-Z To Take Bey’s Last Name?

Has the notoriously chauvinistic Jay-Z been morphed into the modern man after marrying Beyonce?
Let the British tabloids tell it he has. The Daily Star says that Bey and Jay have opted to take each other’s surnames in order to keep the name Knowles alive.
A source told the paper: “They want to keep Knowles because Beyonce’s parents didn’t have any sons and they’re keen to keep the name going strong, especially if they don’t produce any children themselves.”
Indeed, with Papa Mat and Tina not producing any male sons, it seems Beyonce’s carrying on the tradition of her mother by going all out to get their last name alive.
So this rumor says Jay-Z will be known as Shawn Knowles-Carter while Queen Bey is to be known as Beyonce Knowles-Carter.
I bet most of you are reading this and not believing an ounce of it, but there are men out there who take on their wives names as a means of respect. You know, since patriarchy should be played out by now. If this rumor were true, would that be so bad?
Who really cares what last name he has, he will still be Jay-Z. If he wanted to change his last name to “pink” it doesnt matter. His music will continue to sell, and he will continue to make millions. Changing his last name after his wife’s name is his bussiness. Plus there’s plenty of man that would take her last name in a heatbeat, he’s just the lucky one.

I agree, If they need someone to carry on the family name let her sister, whom by the way have a son carry the last name on since that is the only boy/man the Knowles have. Now on Jay-Z part the only only thing I say is U have worked very hard to be where U are, and he shouldn’t let your wife try you like that her daddy is an A** hole and **** tryin to please him .

There is nothing wrong with him taking her last name, and for people that have a problem with it and saying that he has lost respect…..STOP HATIN…you’ll still buy his albums!!!
I think that if this is tru then people should leave it alone. I mean they grown,rich,and famous. They both are on top of their game and as a married women I strongly believe it is up to them to do what they please. They are the ones who have to live with it not us. Their choice on a name change does not affect their music or what they have accomplished in the past.

Shawn Carter, Keep it traditional, don’t go with allowing your wife to have that much lead way over you. It’s not appropriate for you to give this woman that much freedom, there are boundaries. She will over rule at all times and that will demeanor your role as a man. If you and Bey’ want to keep her surname ( Fathers Name) in the family, than you can give it to your Son as Shawn Knowles Carter, That will be the best way of doing it. Do not give your wife that advantage. I’m speaking from a woman point of view.
we need to put things back in the proper prospective in this society, we are adapting too many different ways of doing things and it’s creating a mess for mankind. God has given us the law to live by and we need to follow those guidelines. The world is out of order when we try to do things on our own understanding.
In conclusing, I love you Shawn A.K.A ( Jay-Z) and Beyonce and all that I have shared to the both of you are coming from the pureness of my heart.
