It’s official: Mariah Carey is going to be a mommy!

Mimi announced what we’ve known for months the big news to Billy Bush of Access Hollywood during a three-part interview that starts tonight:

“You’re the first person I’m talking to…yes, we are pregnant. This is true,” she said.

In the interview, the singer and her husband Nick Cannon also talk about how difficult the process has been:

“It’s been tough because I’ve been trying to hold on to a shred of privacy and it’s not easy,” she said.

Nick revealed that when the couple was in Monte Carlo for the World Music Awards two years ago,  Mariah took a pregnancy test that came up positive, but she later had a miscarriage. It’s no wonder the couple wanted to wait this time around before confirming the pregnancy. Nick added, “The greatest gift on earth is a child. The process of getting here was hard.”
