The National Enquirer is running a story with the headline “Oprah Begs Gayle: Don’t Leave Me!” The always reliable tabloid alleges professional BFF Gayle King is leaving her full-time job as Oprah Winfrey’s sidekick for a gig with the CBS morning show crew. The story also claims Gayle is hooking up with 50 Cent, and even got herself a temporary 50 tattoo on her arm.

Now, I don’t know which part of this story is harder to believe, but if even the bit about Gayle ditching Oprah in favor of, you know, actually working for a living is true, here’s a cautionary tale for her:

S2S Magazine pointed out the fate of another Oprah defector, a lifestyle coach named Iyanla Vanzant who left Lady O’s inner circle to launch her own syndicated show. Are you asking yourself, “Iyanla who?”

Yeah, me too.
