Adele Was Dumped by Boyfriend for Gay Bestie, Says BiographyPublished by Natasha Fierce on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 9:40 am.
Adele has once again proven the theory that heartbreak is the best fuel for creativity. Or, at least, her unofficial biography has.
Adele: The Biography claims the singer’s first boyfriend, who she has openly said inspired her both her debut album 19 and it’s Grammy-bait follow-up 21, was openly bisexual.
Author Marc Shapiro says, “one thing we know is that it was a first love gone terribly bad.” He goes on to write in the book, which has been excerpted on the Huffington Post, “Adele had professed her love and he did the same; she had known he was bisexual but, in the rush of romance, felt they could make it work. Four hours after laying their emotional cards on the table, the boy ran off with one of Adele’s gay friends.”
Four hours. Even Kim Kardashian can’t beat that record.
Before you feel too sorry for Adele, let’s keep in mind that the undoubtedly ego-scarring experience lead her to 22 million album sales and eight Grammys. Most people never forget their first, but not everybody will be collecting royalty checks from it for decades to come.
