Kobe Bryant’s Wife Says She Wouldn’t Want a Non-Champion Hubby

Seems Kobe Bryant’s wife, Vanessa, is causing a stir after a statement she made to New York magazine.
In a piece about NBA wives and their overpowering fashion game, Vanessa answered the reporter’s question about whether her daughters liked watching their dad play basketball.
After explaining their interests were limited (“Would your child want to sit there and watch either you or your spouse work?” she asked), Vanessa commented on her own interest in the sport and her marriage to an NBA champion.
“I certainly would not want to be married to somebody that can’t win championships,” she explained. “If you’re sacrificing time away from my family and myself for the benefit of winning championships, then winning a championship should happen every single year.”
The statement would be innocent and, well, cute if all she had to endure was her hubby’s time away. But that hasn’t been the case given reports of their near break-ups and one infamous news conference where her husband — with a very parched throat — apologized for his infidelity. Who could forget the diamond boo-boo prize from that hiccup?
But in her moment of fabulosity and fashion, the championship rings make it all worth it. Yeah… right.
