Shaquille O’Neal Facing Punitive Damages From Mistress LawsuitPublished by on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 10:00 am.
Apparently Shaquille O’Neal used spy technology to keep a big brother eye on an ex-gal pal, and now she’s fighting back. According Radaronline.com the former pro-baller’s mistress Vanessa Lopez, has filed court documents to add a claim for punitive damages to an ongoing lawsuit against O’Neal.
In Lopez’s lawsuit against Shaq that was filed in Miami Dade County in 2010, she accused O’Neal of invasion of privacy, intentional inflection of emotional distress among other things.
She claims O’Neal began harassing her shortly after she told Shaq she thought she was pregnant. The former NBA star allegedly accused Lopez of sleeping around and began threatening her.
But in court documents a former Shaq employee named Shawn Darling said in a deposition that O’Neal was interested in hacking into text messages of third parties and monitoring and recording cell phone call of third parties. Darling also says that Shaq wanted to acquire a fake sender number on incoming calls to third parties with the intention of spying or intercepting wireless calls, which is called spoofing.
The computer server Darling set up for Shaq contained 13,000 electronic communications, which are “authenticated and support the Plantiff’s claim of wanton and egregious conduct to support the imposition of punitive damages.”
Tsk, tsk, tsk…Dr. Shaq Fu, we hardly knew you.
