Will Phaedra Parks Lose Homes in Seized Fraud Case?Published by on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at 10:00 am.
Between the Real Housewives of Atlanta Reunion brawl of Kenya Moore and Porsha Williams, to the in fighting and friendship demise of NeNe Leakes and Cynthia Bailey, the Georgia Peach gals are sure earning their rep as the most-watched of all the housewives franchises. But wait… there’s more. Now there’s word that Phaedra Parks’ hubby Apollo Nida could be having big housing trouble.
Just to recap for those unfamiliar with the situation, Nida was accused of bank fraud and identity theft, but waived his indictment because he’s looking to go to trial and get a plea deal. But in the meantime, the feds just might be seizing his homes. In court documents filed on April 24 it states, “….Nida shall forfeit to the United States… any property constituting or derived from proceeds obtained directly or indirectly as a result of” his alleged scam. And if the court can’t find, agree upon the property, the government expects cash payments.
But despite all of this, Phaedra might not be a homeless housewife after all. Nida and Parks signed a pre-nup before their 2009 marriage and have since kept all their properties separate. In addition, when the couple moved into their $800K Buckhead mansion in 2013, only her name was on the lease. She also owns a second home in Athens, Georgia. Records show that Nida is the owner of several low-end Atlanta properties, so those could be in danger.
That Phaedra is one smart cookie. But, she is a lawyer after all!
