Tanya Young is ready to kiss and tell. The former Basketball Wives star, who was on the Los Angeles edition of the show for one season, is revealing what it’s really like to star on the controversial series. And it ain’t pretty.
She tells the Daily Beast:
“I certainly don’t miss the environment I was exposed to while taping Basketball Wives. It was both toxic and controlling. Women were not allowed to communicate after shooting a scene; women were chastised as if they were children; high-ranking executives would childishly ignore cast members on the set; and producers would ‘ice’ cast members from working when they wanted to garner more outrageous conduct from them,” says Young. “Despite the ‘friendships’ portrayed on the screen, some producers purposely planted seeds of discord between the women, and told outright lies, hoping that conflict and drama would ensue.”
Young reveals that when fights break out on the show (which frequently happens), even if producers step in to break them up, cameras never stop rolling. When a fight broke out, “the producers struck ratings gold — and they knew it.”
She goes on:
“Tami Roman of Basketball Wives Miami suffered a mild heart attack; marital relationships have deteriorated; and long-term friendships have morphed into childish rivalries. More important, these women in designer shoes, carrying expensive bags, with flawless makeup and perfectly weaved hair, have been reduced to water-throwing, filthy-mouthed, table-running, “b****-slapping” lunatics. ”
Young is just the latest person to jump on the anti-BBW bandwagon. A petition endorsed by Star Jones to get the show off the air is gaining steam, sponsors have already started pulling their support and even ratings have taken a blow. Cast members Evelyn Lozada and Jennifer Williams have been in the center of the firestorm for their lawsuit-sparking feud.
Could it be possible that the days are numbered for TV’s fiestiest housewives?

She looked like a ray of sunshine in her teal maxi dress and spiral curls, but some paparazzi learned that if you get too close to Halle Berry, you gon’ get burned. The actress threw down on some paps who were assembled outside of her daughter Nahla’s school yesterday, we’re guessing because they got too close to the lil’ cub.
Berry looked visibly upset, like she was cursing up a storm, and at one point leaned into the shutterbug’s car window and pointing her finger in his face.
“It is inappropriate for these people to stalk a child’s school everyday,” a source close to Berry tells E! News. ”They pushed too far [today],” the source added. “Halle felt that her daughter was being threatened. Having words with someone who is stalking your family is not out of line.”
This isn’t the first time Berry has taken the paps to task. In 2008, she filed a criminal complaint against a photo agency that was circulating pictures the actress claims were taken of her and Nahla in their backyard.
We’re sure Berry is on a short fuse these days what with all the ex-drama in her life. Nahla’s father Gabriel Aubrey dragged her back to court last week, asking for $500,000 in attorney fees and keeping the flame lit under their ongoing custody battle.
Hopefully the Dark Tide actress can focus on something more fun for a while…like planning her wedding to her hot little French fry Olivier Martinez?
As for the paparazzi, next time, wear a helmet.

His chances at a championship ring are looking pretty bleak, so Kris Humphries is going for the next best thing. The New Jersey Brooklyn Nets player is demanding his ex-wife Kim Kardashian return the 20-carat ring he “bought” her, saying he “can’t fathom” why Kim would want to keep the rock now that the couple’s 72-day marriage is kaput.
”Remember, Kim filed for divorce. Kris paid for that ring, and he just can’t fathom why Kim would want to keep it. It’s not like she is ever going to wear it again,” a source tells RadarOnline.com. ”Kris realises that with Kim it’s all about material objects and she truly treasures things over people in her life.”
The ring is just the latest piece of booty Kris is trying to get back from Kim. He also wants to know what up with the $325,000 Ferrari gifted to the couple by a Malaysian businessman, and has previously claimed he doesn’t believe Kim donated the rest of their wedding gifts to charity.
‘Kris wants a divorce trial so that the truth can finally come out,” the source added, pointing out that Humphries is motioning to have the trial filmed, reality-style.
As if the disastrous marriage, public divorce and paparazzi-overload of Kim prancing around Manhattan with her new boo Kanye West isn’t making things awkward enough, the ex-drama is now affecting Kris’s professional game. Hollywood Life claims Humphries is not only ruling out re-upping with the Nets, which is co-owned by Kim’s man Kanye’s boy Jay-Z (nevermind that the Nets haven’t offered Kris any kind of contract), he’s planning to stay out of the NBA altogether for fear that he’ll wind up on the same team as Kim’s sister Khloe Kardashian’s husband Lamar Odom, who is also a free agent. Yeesh…wiping my brow just thinking about all that potential drama.
Hollywood Life claims Kris is “solely focused on his divorce” right now, which seems like a really healthy and constructive use of a professional athlete’s time. It’s not like there’s a time limit on your b-ball career, right, Kris?

Jay-Z dropped in on Oprah’s Master Class: Special Edition recently to talk about being a first-time dad, and he shared his parenting strategy with Oprah Winfrey.
“I imagine I’ll take things I learned from my mom and things I’ve learned from raising my nephews and apply that,” he reveals, then adds, “Then at the end of the day, I just know I’ll probably have the worst, spoiled little kid ever.”
Probably? Is the Earth round? Between this, this and this, hip hop’s First Daughter was born into the .001% of babies, and the heiress to Daddy Jay’s record label, basketball team and property empire will unlikely ever see an empty wallet in her life. Even mom Beyoncé had to resort to cutting her own hair to bankroll Blue’s expensive taste. Not that we’re jealous of an eight-month-old baby who owns more Prada than we do.
But despite the charmed life he’s able to show his baby girl, Daddy Jay still worries she’ll turn on him as a teen. “Everyone imagines they’ll be a great dad until their [kids are] teenagers,” he says with a laugh. “[They say], ‘Get away from me, Dad. You’re embarrassing me.’ ”
Yeah, that’ll happen.
Well, we don’t care how spoiled B.I.C. is as long as she puts that damn Suri Cruise in her place. Go get yours, girl.
Oprah’s Master Class: Special Edition airs Sunday on OWN at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

Looks like Tamar Braxton is having a hard time containing her jealousy. The Braxton Family Values star cooked up a side of beef with Jill Scott simply because Scott dared to praise another reality show on the WE network–Mary Mary–for it’s “real representations” of the Black community.
“Please watch Mary Mary on WE tv. Finally a real representation. Yay!!!!!!!!” Scott tweeted, to which a pissed off Tamar responded, “Of freaking what?”
The various Braxtons and their fans dog-piled on the feud, basically proving Scott’s point for her. One of Scott’s followers clarified the neo-soul singer’s point for her, saying “Just because I love oranges doesn’t mean I HATE apples.” Well played, @chinatay05.
We all know Tamar is sensitive as a time bomb (Tamar, homegirl, if you’re reading this, that wasn’t a diss!), but could she maybe possibly be taking this the wrong way? There’s plenty of room in the vast universe of reality TV for both their brands of drama. Real representations or real crazy, all that matters at the end of the day are real ratings, trust!

Gabriel Aubry is trying to squeeze Halle Berry like orange juice. Berry’s ex, who is father to her daughter Nahla, dragged her back to court yesterday and asked a judge to order her to “substantially increase” his monthly paycheck.
Luckily for Halle, the judge had no time to hear Aubry’s sorry pleas for cash, and granted a continuance. This is just the latest scuffle between the bitter exes, who have made a nearly monthly habit of standing before a judge to complain about each other, claim the other is an unfit parent and fight for full custody of the three-and-a-half year old. Sad.
We love how Aubry, who is a male model and actor, is trying to upgrade his seat on the gravy train right around the time Berry is making moves to re-locate to France with her daughter and her hunky fiance Olivier Martinez. Jealous, much?

We always knew he was smooth (stop laughing), and now Ray J is gonna get paid for it. The R&B singer just landed a deal to be the stubble-free face of Prince Reign’s shaving serum, worth a reported $1 million (seriously, stop laughing).
Ray’s rep won’t disclose details of the seven-figure deal, but we’re guessing it has to include an old videotape of himself giving Kim Kardashian a Prince Reign bikini wax. No other way to ’splain it.
See you around the drug store, J!
But seriously, I’ll be sticking to Nair.

What do a German Shepherd, the island nation of Cypress, Flashdance and an Iraqi driver have in common?
No, that’s not the set-up for an elaborate joke, but rather a list of things Jennifer Lopez has been sued over. Diva got served with a lawsuit by one Hakob Manoukian, TMZ reports, who claims Lopez and her manager Benny Medina humiliated him and ruined his career.
Take it back to 2005, when Manoukian was hired by Lopez and then-husband Marc Anthony to drive their arses around LA. The power couple were allegedly so impressed with his motor skills, they persuaded him to close his limo company and work for them full-time as Head of Security and Transportation…for $200,000 a year.
The ride got bumpy in 2011, when Jenny started shooting What to Expect When You’re Expecting and Manoukian had to spend more and more time with her manager Benny Medina. The Iraqi-born Manoukian claims Medina “hated his guts” and “would often rip him for the way he dressed, cussed him out in public and told him he could not speak English well enough.”
He adds that Funky Cold Medina forced Lopez to demote him and ultimately pushed him out of the Lopez Empire. Now, he’s suing for unspecified damages.
J.Lo is keeping quiet on this one, but Medina told reporters that Manoukian is just “a disgruntled employee who chose to quit.”
Guess the truth will come out in court.
And if you’re still curious about those other lawsuits Jennifer was hit with, here’s your answer sheet: German Shepherd, Cypress, Flashdance.

Looks like the divorce is still on between Allen Iverson and his ex Tawanna. The NBA all-star’s estranged wife claims he’s been harassing her to the point of fearing for her safety, and now she’s seeking a restraining order, TMZ reports.
Tawanna filed legal documents in court over the weekend, claiming Iverson “has engaged in increasingly contemptuous, threatening, and disturbing behavior” in recent months, and she wants court protection starting immediately.
Just a month ago, Iverson made a bid to stop the divorce proceedings, claiming he and Tawanna had reconciled their differences and were “cohabiting” and having “sexual relations” as late as February 2012. Tawanna, meanwhile, demanded a list of all the other home fries Allen had been creepin’ on during their 10-year marriage. She also claims Iverson has been hiding cash from her, and wants him to disclose his true assets in court, presumably so she can get the better half.
The couple first began dating in high school and have five children together.

The drama on Basketball Wives seems to have finally crossed the line from ratings-booster to public disgrace. A group of fans lead by—who else—Star Jones have launched a petition to stop the insanity on the show, in particular calling out ish-starter Evelyn Lozada for her “bullying.” The petitioners want to make Evelyn pay for her bad behavior by calling on network execs to cancel her spin-off show, Chad & Ev.
The petition reads:
Evelyn Lozada is a bully. The violence on “Basketball Wives” is horrible and disgraceful. Physical assaults, threats, verbal abuse, and harassment. VH1 is rewarding this behavior by giving Evelyn a spinoff. Don’t reward negative behavior.
This is not a hate petition against Eveyln Lozada. We simply will not support violence. It hurts to see violence amongst women on television for entertainment purposes. It is not ok for women to hit each other on TV.
As far as we recall, it takes two to tango, but, if you feel so inclined…
