The theme for T.I.’s 28th birthday party on Saturday at the Biltmore in Atlanta
was “suited and booted” and neither T.I. nor his girl Tiny disappointed.
The rapper is scheduled to take the stage tonight at Marquee in New York City to
perform at a benefit event for the Patrón Music In Motion Tour, which raises funds
to help rebuild New Orleans.

Jennifer Hudson wasn’t expecting a wedding proposal from her boyfriend David “Punk” Otunga when he told her to dig in the sand while at the beach on her 27th birthday on Sept. 12.

“I had no clue at all… We went to the beach during the day and he blindfolded me… and he gave me a purple shovel, because purple’s my favourite colour… and I had to dig.

“I ended up digging through all this sand. When I found it, it was like a bunch of beautiful cards… one related to the other, and the last one said, ‘Look around, take the moment in, turn around and I have a gift for you.’”

Hudson showed off her Neil Lane sparkler on ”The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” on Friday. She told Jay that her future husband is “a beautiful guy” and that ”He’s an attorney; he went to Harvard Law School.”

That law degree from Harvard is nice, girlfriend, but there are plenty of people worried that you may be following in the same footsteps as Star Jones with Al Reynolds and Terry McMillan with Jonathan Plummer. Make sure that blindfold isn’t still on.

I watched a cute video that Janet Jackson shot of her little boo Jermaine Dupri
boozing it up at a condo before their crew headed to target="_blank">Jermaine’s 36th birthday party at Tenjune in New York
City. She should have monitored his alcohol intake but instead the heavy drinking
continued and she apparently paid the price for it – with a lap full of his vomit. id="more-1609">

The video, “Living The Life: My Birthday!!!!!!!”, shows Jermaine sweating
and wiping his head with a cloth while Johnta Austin says, “He on 10 shots
already at the condo. We about to go to the party.” Jermaine talks about not
being allowed to walk the red carpet with a bottle of Patrón. But he got his hands
on some inside according to Page Six:

JERMAINE Dupri had a little too much of a good time celebrating his 36th birthday.
The other night, Dupri and his squeeze, Janet Jackson, went to Tenjune, where, spies
say, they shared bottles of Jay-Z’s Ace of Spades Champagne and Patrón tequila
with Ne-Yo, Busta Rhymes and Ice-T – until Dupri “vomited in Janet’s
lap. Ms. Jackson bolted out of the scene and sped off in her chauffeured Maybach.”
A rep for Jackson and Dupri didn’t return calls. A rep for Tenjune declined
to comment. Meanwhile, we hear Dupri is under some stress at work. The head of urban
music for Island/Def Jam put out his lady’s last album, “Discipline,”
which flopped. Our insider said, “[IDJ head] L.A. Reid had wanted to make
changes to the album, make it fresher with some newer artists added in, but Janet
said no – and Jermaine backed her up. He looks silly right now.”

Maybe he thought all that tequila would help him forget about his girlfriend’s
spiraling musical career.

Rumors circulated earlier this week that Mariah Carey would announce that she was
pregnant on today’s “Oprah” then that the songbird cancelled her
appearance. Neither was true.

A representative from Winfrey’s production company, Harpo, insists there are
no scheduled plans to have Carey on the show either now or in the immediate future.
Meanwhile, Carey’s spokesperson has shot down claims the star is pregnant – a rumor
that has plagued her since exchanging vows with Nick Cannon in April after a whirlwind
romance.

Nick’s t-shirt (above) seems to sum up the couple’s thoughts to all
the naysayers about their still unfathomable marriage. But they have at least one
believer.

“I think he made a great decision,” Nick’s little brother, Reuben,
told People earlier this month,
adding that his brother was ready for a commitment. “When you’re a celebrity
at a young age like he was, you’ve seen so much.”

And Reuben, a musician, just loves having Mariah as a sister-in-law.

“It’s just a privilege to have her as part of the Cannon family,”
Reuben says. “I love Mariah. Who doesn’t love Mariah Carey?”

Surprise! Less than a year after they began dating, Jennifer Hudson and David “Punk”
Otunga are engaged. He popped the question with a Neil Lane diamond ring on her
27th birthday.

“I can confirm that Jennifer got engaged to her boyfriend David on Friday
night in L.A.” her rep told
People.

You didn’t really think J-Hud would go back to her longtime boo James Peyton, did
you? Although she and Punk, both from Chicago, keep a low profile together, at least
he should be accustomed to being in the spotlight enough where he can handle a rising
star like J-Hud. Her self-titled debut solo album drops Sept. 30, and her next film,
“The Secret Life of Bees,” opens on Oct. 17.

Congrats to the lovebirds! Even if it seems pretty sudden.

Well, it’s about time. Ray Allen of the NBA champ Boston Celtics finally made
an honest woman of his longtime fiancée Shannon Walker Williams, an actress until
she started popping out his babies.

They do look quite gorgeous at their beautiful wedding that took place Saturday
on Martha’s Vineyard. It’s been a bittersweet year for the family. During
the NBA Finals, youngest son Walker, 19 months, was diagnosed with diabetes. Shannon
and Ray also have a four-year-old son, Walter Ray III. Ray’s daughter Tierra,
a sophomore in high school (and I hear a great athlete as well), lives in South
Carolina but was on the Vineyard for the ceremony.

Reports say that Brian McKnight provided the musical entertainment and the bride,
wearing a Melissa Sweet gown, walked down the aisle to Brian’s hit “Never Felt This
Way”, the same song Ray used to propose.

Kim eyes husband No. 2

Could wedding bells soon ring again for Kim Kardashian? The Tush thinks she’s
found her Mr. Right in Reggie Bush, the 23-year-old New Orleans Saints’ star
running back.

“I hope so,” Kim, 27, said after being asked by
People if she’s found Mr. Right. “I think I finally made the
right choice. He’s just a really sweet, normal guy.”

As for marriage, “we talk about it,” says Kim. “As soon as we’re
done filming (Keeping Up with the Kardashians) I’m probably going
to spend most of my time in New Orleans for a little bit until he’s done (with
the NFL season).”

Kim’s first marriage, to music producer Damon Thomas, ended in a messy divorce
in 2004. According to People, Damon calls his ex-wife a “compulsive
shopper.”

But does she pay her debts? TMZ
recently posted a lawsuit filed by an auto leasing company accusing Damon on defaulting
on payments on a 2002 Ferrari 360 Spyder, a 2005 Bentley GT coupe and a 2005 Lamborghini
Murcielago Roadster leased in 2007. Elegante Leasing Ltd. claims Damon, who worked
on the Dreamgirls soundtrack, owes nearly $475,000.

Are Chris Brown and Rihanna getting really serious? It certainly looks that way.
This picture was snapped as the lovebirds arrived in Rihanna’s native Barbados

OK, so the ring may not mean anything. Seems like the singer often sports some kind
of ring on that certain finger. But it does seem like the relationship is going
to the next level. Just a few weeks ago the young couple enjoyed a weekend near
Chris’ native Virginia. Now they’re hanging out at Rihanna’s birthplace
with her family.

Newlyweds Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have yet to have an over-the-top wedding
celebration but a report says they are gearing up for a big event to be hosted by
L.A. Reid in the Hamptons this summer.

MARIAH Carey is finally getting the wedding party she always dreamed about. Sources
say Carey paid an astounding $125,000 to rent Stone Meadow Farm in East Hampton
for one week this month. At the 10-bedroom, 18,000 square-foot, 8-acre spread, the
diva and her new hubby, Nick Cannon, will “chill out” – as opposed to
whatever else they’ve been doing since they married. But we hear she’s
also finally getting around to celebrating her quickie April wedding to Cannon.
The party will be hosted by Def Jam boss L.A. Reid, and all the guests who bought
Carey presents through her Bergdorf Goodman registry can finally toast the couple.
If all goes well, Carey has the option to buy Stone Meadow, which is listed at just
under $20 million and is the site of the Red Cross Ball on Aug. 23. Carey’s
rep and Corcoran listing agent Gary DePersia had no comment.

Beyoncé sported her wedding ring Wednesday night to Madison Square Garden, where
Jay-Z gave a surprise performance during a Kanye West concert. But Jigga still wouldn’t
confirm the marriage when asked by VIBE. id="more-1176">

Next month Jay-Z is featured on the magazine’s annual “Juice”
issue, which also celebrates VIBE’s 15th anniversary. Writer Elliott Wilson
hung out with Jigga for five days in the United Kingdom to get the mogul’s
