LeToya Luckett recently penned a blog entry for Honeymag.com addressing her Destiny’s Child past, the potential future of rekindling a friendship with her old band members in addition to settling up on old dating rumors.
Indeed, the singer-actress elaborated on the last time she’s run into Kelly Rowland and whether or not Matt Kemp really dumped her for Rihanna.
Here’s what Luckett had to say on Destiny’s Child and restoring friendships:
I wasn’t upset about losing a chance to go to the Grammy’s or any celebrity perks. It was the loss of the friendship that was difficult. That was the hardest part of the separation. These girls [Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, LaTavia Roberson] were my friends from elementary school. We went to church together, we hung out together.
To go from that to sitting across from each other in a courtroom and going through all that law stuff, was just crazy. You just kind of look at each other differently. That’s when I realized that the friendship had died. Figuring out how we were going to split assets and profits and all of that felt like a divorce.
God is so amazing. Recently, I ran into Kelly and we got to catch up briefly. It was one of those things where you never know how the other person is going to react. But it was relaxed. I think we’ve both gotten to the age where it’s like, Girl please! She even hit me up the other day to let me know she was traveling. I would love to have a close friendship again, but that’s on God’s time.
And on those Matt Kemp rumors:
Like with the situation with Matt Kemp. I think the blogs kind of created the whole relationship. We were friends – there was nothing more to it. When we went out, a lot of times we had lots of other mutual friends there, but people would single us out. I definitely thought he was cute, but it was never anything like that. They had it on blogs that we were dating and this happened and that happened – but that’s not it.
And guess which two ex-Destiny’s Child members were spotted at R&B Live in LA on stage together this Past Wednesday:

For nearly a decade now many an e-war has been launched over Destiny’s Child.
Most of the battles centered on the following:
Who’s better: ODC or DC3?
Is Beyonce the worst person ever to walk the face of the Earth because of the drama surrounding LeToya and LaTavia’s dismissal from Destiny’s Child?
Should L&L just be happy they got to eat out of the same chicken box as Beyonce at some point in their lives?
For a good while there the beef between the fans was on some Crips and Bloods stuff.
And poor LeToya, despite going platinum with her solo debut album and netting her first big solo hit in “Torn,” she’s still asked about Destiny’s Child as if she got kicked out of the group three days ago.
But ever the trooper Toya remains polite and entertains talk of yesteryear, though she has now potentially opened a can of worms by answering the question: “Would you be open to a Destiny’s Child reunion?”
If you’re wondering, she didn’t say “Not even if Beyonce spared a line for once.” Actually, she told ABC News’ “What’s The Buzz” that she’d be open to it.
Now I’d expect a California Raisins reunion before one featuring the original members of Destiny’s Child, but how dope would it be if they did actually reform?

In recent years we’ve learned the whereabouts of most of the lost members of Destiny’s Child.
LeToya Luckett went on to record a platinum solo album. Farrah Franklin must have hit the lottery and not told a soul because she appeared on an episode of Bravo’s Millionaire Matchmaker.
However, little has been said about what original member LaTavia Roberson has been up to until now. Word is that she’s now ready to fill fans in about her post-DC life via a tell-all book.
Naturally, the book will cover her time with the group, but it’s said she will also speak on her struggles with family (rumor: they thought she was an ATM machine) and other areas in her life and how she’s overcome them.
It’s good to know Tav hasn’t been spending her days throwing darts at pictures of Beyonce and Kelly.
Some people would still be salty, but acting like a bottle of Lawry’s all the time leads to a terrible life. Good for her trying to move on with her career.
Are you looking forward to reading what LaTavia has to say?

This must just be the week of frivolous lawsuits!
Beyonce has filed a federal lawsuit in New York against a group of people who are selling bootleg copies of her CDs and other knock-off merchandise at her concerts around the world.
According to TMZ, her legal team hasn’t been able to track down exactly who’s selling the unauthorized goods (how you sue an unknown person is a mystery to me), but they’re anticipating the sales continuing at Bey’s upcoming Madison Square Garden concerts on June 21st and 22nd so they’re trying to get a judge to rule the merch illegal.
Good luck with that!
Now I love Beyonce so I’m not going to go in on her, but obviously Sasha Fierce’s lace front is on too tight! Is it really going to hurt her pockets if someone gets a CD or T-shirt from the hustle man for 5 dollars? (I’ll be the first to admit I copped the latest album off of 125th Street in Harlem and low key — after I listened to it I wished I would’ve saved that change and downloaded it online! Don’t come after me Papa Knowles!)
Whatever, all I know is Bey can’t be that concerned with knock-offs. Have you seen or heard her concert tour opening act Richgirl?
From what I’ve heard so far they sound an awful lot like Destiny’s Child and group member Brave looks like she’s swagger jacking Mrs. Carter (her other group members have even said she has “multiple personalities”!). Not hating, I’m just saying.
