With his freedom now upon him, Dr. Conrad Murray is looking to officially become a doctor once again.
Prior to his release, Murray filed a civil petition last Friday in Travis County, Texas requesting a civil court judge to halt revoking his medical license. The controversial doctor currently has an ongoing pending criminal appeal in California.
For those unaware of the controversial doc’s history, Murray had a clinic in Texas, prior to his 2011 conviction of negligence in the death of Michael Jackson. And the Lone Star State was the first to revoke his license citing his felony conviction in California, the state where the King of Pop died, as the reason.
But Murray’s Texas attorneys are fighting his cause to the end and trying to ensure that the doctor practices medicine again very soon. “Dr. Murray has an unquenchable desire to help people, and no matter where it is, he will return to his give profession of healing,” Charles Peckham told the the New York Daily News.
But popular opinion, MJ fans of course and the city of Los Angeles aren’t so anxious to have the questionable doc back in business. The Los Angeles District Attorney’s office has vowed to fight all efforts by Murray to get a medical license anywhere in the United States. There has also been talk of Murray seeking out a reality show deal … we’ll see.
