Vanessa Bryant Finally Address Infamous Drake Song Lyric Criticizing Her Marriage

Vanessa Bryant has been laying low since her divorce filing from NBA all-star hubby Kobe Bryant in early 2012, but a lyric by Drake may have finally provoked her to speak up for herself.

The Young Money rapper fired a shot at Kobe’s wife with the line, “B**** you wasn’t with me shootin’ in the gym,” on Rick Ross’s track “Still Schemin’,” clearly implying that Vanessa is not entitled to half of  Kobe’s fortune in their divorce (though California family law seems to think otherwise). Drake’s fans have since echoed his critique by repeatedly putting Vanessa on blast.

This week, she finally responded via Instagram: “I love when immature kids quote a rapper that has never been friends with Kobe and knows nothing about our relationship,” she wrote.

“Just shows how gullible they are. I don’t need to be in the gym. I’m raising our daughters, signing checks and taking care of everything else that pertains to our home life.”

She concludes, “I hold down our home life so my husband can focus on his career. It’s a partnership.”

Vanessa went on to say that Drake has never had a relationship with Kobe and that his team reached out to her to apologize for the misguided lyric, and now his fans need to do the same.

We’re not sure what’s going on with Bryant vs. Bryant (the estranged couple put out a joint Christmas card this year) but it seems like they’re trying to work it out. And for those who doubt how much Vanessa contributes to their partnership, maintaining six homes, two kids and a $200 million fortune can’t be easy.

Bad Girls Club’s Catya Washington Tells All About Relationship and Sex Life With Drake

Published by Dior Noir on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at 9:53 am.

(Photo: Oxygen)

When she’s not on the Bad Girls Club, or getting arrested in the middle of a drug bust (yeah, that happened) Catya “Ms Cat” Washington is fighting to stay relevant by playing kiss and tell. Chick hit Philly’s new Hot 107.9 and spilled some juicy details on a relationship she said she had  Drake, and in case you were wondering ladies, she gave the full report on what Mr. Aubrey is working with in the sack.

You might remember she was in his “Best I’ve Ever Had” video—that’s where she says they met the rest of the relationship–according to her—right on down to her saying she left him a year later is detailed in an excerpt from her interview, below.

On how she met Drake
We met on the set of “Best I Ever Had.” It was real cool! We sat on the bleachers on set directed by Kanye [West]. Having fun, tweeted each other back and forth–real cool. Never thought it would go anywhere just cool, kicking it. The next thing you know I’m in Toronto and we’re having dinner.
He flew me out to Toronto and we started kicking it and liking each other. One flight turned into ten then the next thing you know I got a toothbrush in there and it’s on.

How long did it take for you to get from just dating to a relationship?
Like a month. It was like 0 to 60.

You moved to Toronto?
Yeah, I was actually there and packed up and was like “I’m out….I’m in love.”

Did you meet his mom?
Yeah, she’s a very nice lady.

Did she know you like, “Oh, what’s your name again?” or she KNEW you?
Well, at first it was like that but then it was like, “Oh this hoe is still around, huh? Oh, she’s still here.” After a while it was like, “Hey, Mom!” I’m from Philly and I’m in Toronto now…that’s my boo.

How long did it take you to go from condom to no condom?
That’s assuming there was ever one involved.

On if she was in love with Drake
Of course, it was an awesome relationship. I was in love, he was in love and by the way in the song he said he was in love, so don’t try to switch it up now. I never mentioned you, you mentioned me. It was good. I’m talking family dinners and we in Whole Foods pushing the cart around. It was a regular relationship. I was in love and he was in love but at the end of the day he started getting a little bit too loose. Meaning he pops up in the tabloids with Maliah, trips to Jamaica that I wasn’t invited to or never heard about. I’m from Philly and we don’t go for that.
It’s a problem [when] you had the kind of relationship we had. That was my dude; it wasn’t somebody I was just kicking it with. If you were just kicking it, you can do what you wanna do but I was yours and you were mine.

On if he’s well endowed
He is a phenomenal “peach eater” and he is black and Jewish and the black side is Mandingo.

On why they broke up
Well, we broke up because I wanted to do the Bad Girls Club 2 and that was a whole big issue too. I was like, “I have my own career and I need to move forward to and he was kind of like “I really don’t want you to go on there and embarrass me.” I was like, “Well, you know my career is my career. You know you’re Drake and you’re cool but I need to be cool too. I can’t sit around and try to get pregnant by you and be a baby mama. I need to make a career for myself.”

Now Drake hasn’t confirmed or denied this yet, but his lyrics on The Game’s track “Good Girl Gone Bad” are telling….

This song reminds me of Cat from Philly
a girl I use to love till she started acting silly
Her heart is a ‘lil chilly she a ‘lil too carefree
in 10 years whose payin’ for all that therapy …..n*gga not me.
I’m probably not the man you take me for
but I bet I could be if you make me yours
Most of the sh*t I say is true
when I’m done with Bad Girls
I’m comin straight for you good girl

Drake Gets Candid About Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and Sex On the Road

Published by on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 11:57 am.

(Photo: Johnny Nunez)

Drake gets rather candid in an Elle magazine interview, talking openly about such matters as his rumored marriage to Nicki Minaj, getting hurt by Rihanna, threesomes and who his mom prefers he walk with down the isle.

On his Twitter marriage to Ms. Minaj, the Canadian rhymester exclaimed: “I don’t know if we were really pretending. I’d marry Nicki. I think Nicki would be one of the only people that would understand me at the end of all of this and be able to love me.”

When it came to discussing the minor heartbreak he received from Rihanna, he said: “At the time it hurt, but she didn’t mean to. I’ll never put that on her. I was hurt because I slowly started to realize what it was. I guess I thought it was more. That was the first girl with any fame that paid me any mind. You spend days reading about this person in magazines. All of a sudden you have this number-one song and you’re at some birthday party and there she is. And you’re just some naive kid from Toronto staying in some shitty-ass hotel who got invited to this party on a whim. That’s just how it happened.”

If you’re thinking Drake’s a player, he offers his honest thoughts on the wild and lonely sides of being on the road.

“When you’re on the road and moving city to city,” he says about casual sex. “When someone isn’t there at the end of the night, you feel empty. The 15 or 20 seconds after a man reaches his climax is the realest moment he’ll ever have in his life. And if you happen to be with somebody that isn’t someone you want to converse with, you start feeling like, I wish I was just here watching True Blood by myself.”

To the question of threesomes, he says: “I’ve never had one. I swear. I’m a one-woman kind of guy.”

As for bringing a girl home to meet mama, Drake keeps kosher, explaining: “The most intense thing I’ve ever done was bring a girl to Passover dinner. [My mom] just wants me to be happy, but I’m sure she’d love it if I married a Jewish girl.”

Drake: ‘I’m One of the Best Jews to Ever do it’

Published by Dior Noir on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 3:00 pm.

Drake and his mother, Sandi Graham

While every one’s tripping over whether it’s “right” to call Halle Berry’s daughter Nahla “Black”…or not because her dad, Gabriel Aubry, is French Canadian, another Canadian we know, Drake, isn’t afraid to claim the other half of his mixed race.

Drake’s mother is a White Jewish Canadian and his father is African-American. TMZ asked the rapper ”Who do you think is a better Jew, you or Harvey Levin” (their executive editor). Drake responded: “I don’t know, I’m one of the best Jews to do it ever in life.” Well, move over Moses!

Drake’s also very proud of his home country. “I’m a very patriotic Canadian,” he said.

See folks. Not everything had to be so black or white all the time. For those who apply, shouldn’t it be okay to acknowledge both?

Cha-Ching! What Celebrities Will Make for New Year’s Eve Performances

Published by Dior Noir on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 3:00 pm.

I don’t know where you’re partying on New Year’s Eve, but if you’re planning on kicking it with the stars, you’re probably paying a grip considering club organizers are paying crazy cash to have celebrities help them ring in 2011. The New York Post gave a peek into the checks that some of your favorite entertainers are expecting in return for helping ring in the New Year.

Jay-Z leads the pack and is reportedly bringing in a cool $1 million to perform in front of 2,500 invited guests at the new $4 billion Cosmopolitan Resort and Casino Launch Party in Vegas. If Jay’s getting paid like that to party, it’s no wonder he can drop$350,000 on Birkin bags for Beyonce like “money ain’t a thang.” Bey will be at the party too, though she’s not expected to hit the stage. She’ll probably be hanging in the audience with the couple’s friend Gwyneth Paltrow, who’s expected to be in the house since her hubby Chris Martin, the lead singer of Coldplay, is performing with Jay-Z (Chris is getting a million too!).

Rihanna’s also making her way to Vegas at Pure nightclub at Caesar’s Palace and will need her umbrella-ella since promoters are making it rain on her to the tune of $250,000 for her performance.

In Miami, Drake is performing at the W South Beach Hotel for a $250,000 price tag. Not a bad deal considering he’ll get to hang with friends like LeBron James and Jamie Foxx afterward.  Young Money princess Nicki Minaj will be down the South Beach streets at Mansion raking in $75,000 to perform.

Trey Songz is sure to be having the women asking him for bottles of Rosé, since he’s bringing in aproximantely $37,500 for the night to host a party in Miami at Lux.

Getting paid some people’s annual salaries for one night in the club? Now that’s how to live the party life!

Rihanna On Drake, Andrew Bynum, Scars & Bloggers

Published by Runteldat on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at 12:00 am.

Rihanna has been the subject of many dating and other miscellaneous rumors over the course of her career. This past year has been particularly special given she’s been linked to basketball players, called a “pawn” by emo rappers and accused of having a herpes-hampered smile.

In a new radio interview with The Ed Lover Morning Show, Rihanna finally settles some old hearsay – and those responsible for help spreading it:

On Drake saying that she made him feel like a “pawn”:
“I would definitely say, that was wrong, he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. We just became friends and we left it at that. We get along really well. Drake has a youthful thing about him and he is very melodic with the way he writes and I felt I needed someone like that for ‘What’s My Name.’”

The funniest rumor she’s ever heard about herself:
“Dating (LA Laker) Andrew Bynum. Datewise? I just couldn’t believe they insulted me like that. No, I’m just kidding, he is just not my type.”

Most hurtful rumor she’s ever heard about herself:
“I have a scar on my lip and they turned it into an STD rumor. To see that they turned it into that, really hurt.”

On whether or not she still reads blogs:
“[I still read the blogs] sometimes, it depends on what it is I am trying to find out.  I’m a lot more numb to it now only because I understand what it is. It’s a community for people who don’t have anything else to do and hate themselves, they hate their life, they hate their job, they hate their appearance, they are uncomfortable with who they are so what makes them feel good is talking smack about other people who they think they will never ever see in their life and they happen to be celebrities. It seems impossible to ever have the opportunity to say these things to their face, so they get to hide behind their computer.”

As far as her comments about bloggers go, I think that only applies to some. If anything, the way things work now, I’d imagine people would be even crueler if they thought it would lead to opportunities for them.

You know, like Perez Hilton. Besides, minus the unwarranted and often baseless insults, there’s usually some credible criticism there. But, I guess being told how wonderful you are all the time by self-serving people who profit off your life can lead one to think that way.

It’s okay, though, Rih-Rih. You’re beautiful and you make us body roll – that’s all that matters.

Approaching Drake Might Get You a Fat Lip

Published by Dior Noir on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at 3:00 pm.

Is Drake getting too big for his britches?

A Florida fan told Fox that she was just trying to approach the rapper/singer to congratulate him on his success after a concert when his bodyguard hit her in her mouth pushing her to the floor.

When her friend, Jeremis Soriano, stepped in to stand up for her, he ended up with a busted lip, a hospital visit and six stitches all courtesy of Drake’s bodyguard….and allegedly Drake had some choice words. “Drake went to get on the bus and he flicked me off and said ‘F*ck you, you are nothing,” Soriano’s friend said.

Soriano is seeking legal advice and said he wants to press charges to recover the money for his hospital bills.

Rumored Couple: Drake and Amber Rose

Published by Runteldat on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 12:00 am.

Although we realize last night MTV presented the Video Music Awards Lady GaGa Awards, there really wasn’t much to chat about unless you’re still stuck on the Taylor Swift and Kanye West debacle.

Fortunately, most of us realize that it’s 2010 and not 2009 so we’d rather focus on something more current – like this new rumor about Drake.

Indeed, Drizzy was spotted with Kanye’s ex, Amber Rose, over the weekend at one of many VMA parties.

Both seem to get paired with a new person every other week so there could very likely be nothing to this, but until otherwise officially denied here’s Sandra Rose with the word:

Just when Amber Rose’s electricity and water were about to be cut off at her condo for non-payment, another teh ghey, down low rapper has arrived on the scene to save her! Word has it that Canadian rapper Aubrey Drake, who has battled unmerciful gay rumors since emerging on the scene, has enlisted Amber’s beard services. The unlikeliest couple was seen leaving Voyeur nightclub last night. Amber set tongues wagging two months ago when she was seen partying with Kim Kardashian’s former beaux Reggie Bush. But Reggie quickly shook her off. Don’t hate on Amber, who is openly lesbun. The girl has to eat. Plus, Amber did wonders for Kanye’s image didn’t she? People still think he’s actually dating the women he’s seen in pictures with, lol.

First off, if you’re a fan of shade, give it up for Sandra for giving it to them.
That said, the two were photographed leaving the club together, but Amber Rose was also there talking to not so Lil’ Romeo, Idris Elba, and any heterosexual male within walking distance.

Serena Williams Wants To Meet Drake

Published by Runteldat on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at 11:50 am.

It seems Serena Williams might be trying to get hooked up with Drizzy.

According to the New York Post, the tennis phenom has been trying to get people in her camp to help set up a lil’ meet and greet between she and Drake.

Via Page Six:

One source said, “They’re hoping to fix up a meeting with Serena when he plays Radio City later this month.” Williams, who split with actor/rapper Common in May, might be just what Drake wants. “I love older women . . . I love experience and maturity and the conversation,” he told a radio station this week. “I like to learn from an individual, like, when we converse, I like to really be able to soak it all in, the knowledge, the wisdom, all that.” Williams’ rep didn’t get back to us.

Drake is still dodging questions about a potential relationship with Taraji Henson, but given Serena is five years older than Drake, maybe she has a chance.

Drake Remembers Aaliyah With Heartfelt Letter

Published by Dior Noir on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at 3:00 pm.

Yesterday we remembered the nine-year anniversary of Aaliyah’s death and Young Money’s Drake also took a moment to reflect on the “Rock the Boat” singer.

Drake has always shown his love to Aaliyah in interviews. He told BET.com, “I loved Aaliya’s words, I love her sounds I was very attracted to her….I’m going to talk about real life emotions and I just always felt like that’s what Aaliyah did so well. I miss her, I wish she was here.” Of course he also gave a nod to her music by sampling her voice for his collab with Young Jeezy “Unforgettable.” Yesterday he honored the late singer with a letter he penned for Rap Radar:

Dear Dana,

I’ve never lost a parent, a friend, or a lover but I will never forget this day for the rest of my life. I remember getting the news that you had passed and it connected with my heart like a clean shot from Muhammad Ali. I was crushed. Not only was I one of your biggest fans but I was truly in love with you. I loved the way you carried yourself, the way you dressed, the confidence with which you addressed passion and relationships in your music. I said to myself that even if we never met, I wanted a woman in my life just like you. I am pained that we will never get to connect now that music ended up being my career path. But you should know, we all listen to you everyday and we remain inspired and moved by all that you’ve given the world. I hope I make the right life choices so I can end up in heaven where I know you rest your head. I’ll continue to make music in your honor until the day we finally meet. Dinner’s on me!

Love you always and forever,

Drake

So sweet!  RIP “Baby Girl”
