Love is in the air! I swear every other day I have a friend getting engaged or married and the bug seems to have bitten celebs these days too. Miami Heat’s Chris Bosh popped the question to his ladylove Adrienne Williams last Friday, August 27, the New York Post reports. The couple has been dating for about a year–girlfriend snagged Bosh while he was still playing for the Toronto Raptors. In July, the NBA star inked a $100 million deal to join LeBron James and Dwyane Wade on the Heat, which seemed to up his star power too: after the deal he had a cameo on HBO’s Entourage and shot a Got Milk? campaign. I wonder if he’ll be signing that good prenup and more importantly, how long before Shaunie and ‘nem try to recruit her for Basketball Wives?

Meanwhile actor Brian J. White (remember him from Stomp the Yard and Tyler Perry projects?) married his girlfriend Paula DaSilva over the weekend. She’s cute. Now can we put those rumors about him to bed once and for all?

Congrats to the couples.  Wishing them drama-free relationships that last longer than a Hollywood minute!

Looks like one legal battle between Siohvaughn Wade and Dwyane Wade is over.

A few months ago Siohvaughn said that the children she shares with D-Wade were horrified after seeing the basketball star and his girlfriend, Gabrielle Union, engaged in “sexual foreplay” in front of them.
A mass of shade and prayers to CPS soon followed although Dwyane and Gabby denied both.

Ultimately, though Dwyane was granted temporary custody of their sons.

Gabrielle’s lawyer told TMZ that the lawsuit is a “shame” and a “waste of time.”

The site reports that a judge in Illinois has officially dismissed Siohvaughn’s lawsuit, citing improper jurisdiction.

Gabby’s lawyer added: “The allegations against Ms. Union are completely false and do not belong in the Illinois Court System.”

Given Siohvaughn’s track record, I’m sure she’ll figure out some other way to start a legal fight.

Dwyane Wade’s divorce looks like it will only continue to get uglier and more public as the two now battle back and forth for custody of their two children.

Earlier this week, Dwyane Wade filed 300 documents as part of his petition for sole custody of the couple’s two sons. He accused his estranged wife Siohvaughn Wade of being an “unfit parent.”

He said his wife exhibited threatening behavior, had extramarital affairs, used abusive parenting methods against their kids and refuses to let him see his boys.

Wade has said his wife is participating in “alternative avenues of worship that are completely outside of the status quo” when it comes to how the children were to be raised.

In court documents he alleged that his sister Tragil went to Siohvaughn Wade’s Illinois home to pick up the boys and saw Siohvaughn’s friends circled around her praying for her salvation.

Siohvaughn has now responded.

Eunice Ward, who is representing the soon-to-be-ex Mrs. Wade in the divorce proceedings told the Associated Press:

“Our client believes that these various papers were filed as retaliation for her legitimate claims filed March 19, 2010 in the Domestic Relations Court in a Petition for Order of Protection regarding the abuse by Mr. Wade dating back to 2006.”

Siohvaughn Wade has previously accused Dwyane of abandoning his children, said they were frightened to be around him, and that he was “guilty of extreme and repeated mental cruelty” toward her.

As for accusations of unconventional worship, Ward said, “It is regrettable that this father now chooses to use mental health and religion as another means to battle and abuse the mother.”

Pray for their children.

Considering they’ve only started taking pictures together months ago, it’s surprising to see Gabrielle Union talk about her relationship with Dwyane Wade – on, national television, no less.

But I see Gabby doesn’t mind the negative talk anymore and is ready to talk about her man.

Interesting to know Dwyane visits her on the set of Flash Forward. Even more interesting is that she dated Jason Kidd in high school.

She’s not kidding when she says she has high standards.

While Dwayne Wade is speaking out against his ex-wife’s recent TV commentary on their marriage, his alleged girlfriend Gabrielle Union just might be clearing up the rumors about their relationship once and for all. Gabby covers next week’s JET magazine which promises the “actress opens up about flaws, fears and rumors.”

“On the surface, it seems that everything is just about perfect in Gabrielle Union¹s world. She’s playing a lawyer on a hit TV show; she’s in love with a hot, younger man and she’s a spokesperson for a major skin care company. But the actress says she’s the first to admit that her self-work is nowhere near completed. “There are some things I personally want to improve upon in my own life,” she said. “I’m working on personality and character traits that I know need to be tweaked. So yes, I do want more.” (p. 36)”

Looks like they had to butter her up before getting to the good stuff. This issue hits stands Monday, Feb. 15, 2010. Can’t wait to see what the JET Beauty of the Week has to say about living in Dwayne’s world.

E! has caused a stir among men in the NBA for their most recent edition of E! True Hollywood Story themed on offering an inside like on what it’s like to the bride of an NBA baller.

The one wife that’s got most talking is Dwayne Wade’s wife and former high school sweetheart, Siovaughn Wade.

Here’s what she said about their troubled marriage:

Dwayne filed for divorce in 2007, but the two are still battling in court. Note that Siovaughn makes no mention of Dwayne’s new friend, Gabrielle Union.

And his friend and Brandy’s ex, Quentin Richardson chimed in:

You would’ve thought Siovaughn said I hope Dwayne suffers a career-threatening injury or stub his new girlfriend’s toe something terrible. I mean she’s said worse before. Like her saying he gave her herpes and that he abandoned his kids.

They say everything that’s done in the dark comes to light so it’s only right that Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade step out into the sun regardless of what the “evil bloggers” and even nastier blog readers have to say about it.

The two were caught hitting Miami Beach for a swim before Wade’s game in Miami that night.

Previously Dwyane’s publicist would be blocking shots of the two paired up no doubt ducking what’s been harsh criticism of the two considering Dwyane is still legally married to his wife.

The wife in question, Siovaughn Wade has accused Dwyane of being a dead beat dad in the past. That’s a horrible accusation for a celebrity endorser of Dwyane’s caliber, but according to a recent New York Times piece, it doesn’t seem to be a big issue anymore.

On handling rumors and sponsorship, Wade told the paper:

“I’ve dealt with my own personal issues, and my sponsors have been on board with me the whole time,” Mr. Wade said in an interview. “They understand that we’re in the limelight and there are some things that are going to come up to be negative, some positive.”

And while some stars fall, some have tussles just like regular people do — and for the most part, as long as consumers support them, so will their sponsors.

I’m not sure if this is what they call funny, but … remember all those pesky is-she-or-isn’t-she-preggers rumors about Gabrielle Union and Dwayne Wade?

Turns out, his teammates may have been pulling a fast one on us. And them.

The rumors came after The Chicago SunTimes made a declaration on April 7th saying, that “NBA star Dwyane Wade is telling pals he and girlfriend Gabrielle Union are expecting their first child together.” The paper later retracted it saying, “maybe a few of Dwyane Wade’s teammates were pulling a belated April’s Fool joke on him, but Wade’s Chicago-based sports agent Henry I. Thomas insists there’s no truth to stories circulating about the NBA star telling people Gabrielle Union is expecting his baby.”

Haha? Not so much.

So the rumor mill is buzzing with the news that a Gabrielle Union and Dwayne Wade baby is on the way. Mediatakeout is sending everyone into a tailspin with this one, saying that the hoops star and the starlet are with child. According to the gossip site, Wade was overheard bragging to a teammate that the actress will make a good mother. He added that he’s “happy to be making a family” with Union.

We’ll wait with baited breath for the official announcement if this is true.
