Once word gets out about the latest exploits of Evelyn Lozada, popular opinion should agree that when it comes to personality, heart and the “aww factor” the Basketball Wives star is a million miles ahead of  her ex-hubby Chad Johnson.

A few months ago, Lozada received a note from a high school senior, named Anthony from Bloomfield Michigan via Twitter. The teenager wanted the VH1 star to be his date for his prom. Lozada then made the star-struck youth’s ultimate dream come true; not only did she say yes to his request, but also provided lots of A-list extras for the evening. In addition to paying for her own airline ticket from Los Angeles, Lozada provided transportation for she and Anthony in a tricked out Denali, and then she splurged on a very fancy dinner for the both of them. Anthony reciprocated by buying Evelyn a corsage.

Lozada thought it would be a fun experience to attend the prom with Anthony, because she missed her own back in the day due to being pregnant. But the reality star more than made up for lost time, it was reported that Evelyn never left the dance floor all night.

Say it all together now, “Aww…”

Evelyn Lozada Says She Doesn’t Talk to Ex-Hubby Chad Johnson

If you thought or heard that Evelyn Lozada has kept in contact with her ex-husband Chad Johnson, think again. She hasn’t, and she let’s us know no words have been exchanged between them

After arriving to LAX, she was asked by reporters from TMZ if she still speaks to the ex-football player, to which she said: “Nope, we don’t talk… at all.” If you recall, Evelyn dropped her ex-hubby quick-fast after he assaulted her, head-butting her not long after the two were married last year. While Ms. Lozada has spent the last year getting her life together, even appearing on the debut of the life coaching show Iyanla, Fix My Life, Chad has been hanging with the homeless and the law.

In April, he treated a homeless man named Porkchop to drinks, new clothes and a weekend of club-hopping. And this week, Chad was arrested for violating probation he received for the Lozada assault.

But one positive aspect of their relationship  Lozada does maintain… She wishes Chad nothing but the best. The best of what? She never says.

Is Chad Johnson Finally Over Evelyn Lozada?

Published by on Monday, April 22, 2013 at 8:37 am.

Apparently Chad Johnson has abandoned all plans to reunite with ex-wife Evelyn Lozada. When TMZ recently asked the former NFL star if he still talked to his former wifey, Johnson seemed to suffer with a touch of amnesia.

“Who? … Who?” Johnson inquired.

Most reality TV followers and tabloid news fans remember the very short-lived train wreck that was Mr. & Mrs. Ochocinco. Their brief union culminated in Chad being convicted for head-butting Evelyn. Maybe his memory is sketchy because he wasn’t on the receiving end of the blow?

In other news, Johnson said he has every intention of getting back into the NFL. The former wide receiver says he even has a plan “B” lined up just in case all doesn’t go as planned.

Good luck with that Chad, you’ll definitely need it.

Chad Johnson Comes Clean About Infidelity, Domestic Abuse

Published by Natasha Fierce on Friday, December 7, 2012 at 10:00 am.

After a harrowing year, Chad Johnson is trying to reset the scoreboard and get his life, and career, back on track. In a candid interview with ESPN’s First Take, Johnson finally opened up about his rocky marriage and public divorce from Basketball WivesEvelyn Lozada, and his uncertain future in football.

“I’ve accepted responsibility for my actions,” he began. “Especially with [Evelyn] by apologizing to my family, my friends, [and] the players I’ve let down, the Dolphins organization. I know I’m in the wrong. Perception on the outside, everybody sees this one way.”

Ocho didn’t give too many details about the head-butting incident which landed him in both jail and divorce court, but did admit, “there was a domestic dispute, for one, which was all my fault, because I’m living life the way it shouldn’t be lived. That’s why I lost everything I did.”

On his life since the incident, Ocho says, “Of course I’m getting the necessary help. I’ve been going to my domestic violence classes. I’m still training. That’s about all I can do. Just living life. Just learning from my mistakes.”

Interestingly, Johnson didn’t rule out the possibility of reuniting with Lozada, telling his interviewers, “I’ve talked to both of you on the phone numerous times to let you know why I’m fighting for my wife the way I am.”

Could a reconciliation really be in the cards?

Evelyn Lozada Blasts Chad Johnson Groupie on Twitter

Published by Natasha Fierce on Monday, November 19, 2012 at 10:00 am.

Has Ev & Ocho gone from romantic comedy, to horror show, to flat-out drama? Months after their ugly divorce, following an equally ugly incident of domestic violence, Evelyn Lozada can’t seem to shake the ghost of Chad Johnson’s past. A female groupie who has been taking pictures with Ocho lately has reportedly been tweeting Lozada, and the Basketball Wives star finally had enough.

Ev lashed out at the young lady via Twitter yesterday: “Let’s make @jessie8886 famous since she wants to Tweet me all day! You smashed the homie now what?!”

Evelyn has made a big show of moving on with her life, including stopping by Iyanla Vanzant’s OWN show Fix My Life, but it seems her ex still has a way of crawling under her skin. Ev, take it from us: the groupies will always be creepin’. Keep your head up and focus on getting that contract for Season 5 of BBW!

Chad Johnson Spotted Out on Mystery Lunch Date

Published by Natasha Fierce on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at 10:00 am.

A mere month after Chad Johnson had Evelyn Lozada’s face tattooed on his leg, the former NFL star appears to be moving on. Ocho was spotted on a cuddly lunch date — complete with a shared drink — with celebrity trainer and actress AJ Johnson in paparazzi-friendly West Hollywood.

While the pair didn’t engage in any outward PDA, there was a lot of smiling and blushing going on. AJ, who is fifteen years older than Ocho, is best known for her work in House Party and Baby Boy, and for getting stars like Dwyane Wade, Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt into red carpet ready shape.

While it’s too early to say if AJ will wind up becoming the future Mrs. Johnson (get it?), these two sure have a lot in common.

Gloria Govan Wants to K.O. Shaunie O’Neal, Evelyn Lozada

Published by Natasha Fierce on Friday, August 24, 2012 at 2:00 pm.

Gloria Govan is ready to get back in the ring. The fiesty Basketball Wives star wants to go a few rounds with some members of the series’ Miami cast, in particular Shaunie O’Neal and Evelyn Lozada.

“I think I’d use my moves on every cast member in Miami,” Gloria joked to EURweb.com. “I’d knock out Shaunie [O’Neal] first. I’d backhand the s*** out of Shaunie.”

She vows to go a little easier on some of her other co-stars. “Royce [Reed] and I had a moment… so I would wait for that. I wouldn’t knock her out; I’d probably just smack the s*** out of her. Suzie [Ketcham], I like, so that’s cool. Jennifer [Williams] just gets on my nerves, like her voice irritates me. So, I would try to take out her voice box.”

But Gloria seems to be saving her best punch for Evelyn Lozada. “Her whole face is irritating,” Govan says bluntly of the newly-single star. Unfortunately, Gloria’s comments about punching out Lozada couldn’t have come at a worse time.

Despite appearances, Govan insists she’s just kidding, and even comments on the controversy surrounding violence and bad behavior on the show. “The audience really wants [violence]. They don’t want to see us skipping down the street. They don’t want to see that. It’s unfortunate,” she says, adding, “you’ve got to bring those ratings and viewers.”

Still, be careful of throwing the first stone, GG. You know some of these ladies would be more than happy to finish the fight.

Evelyn Lozada Is Now the Only Ochocinco

Published by on Monday, July 30, 2012 at 10:00 am.

(Photo: Uri Schanker/WireImage)

The Ochocinco family are getting off to an uneven start, at least in name.

When Evelyn Lozada and her NFL star fiancé got married earlier this month, she took on Chad’s superstar last name, Ochocino. Only, a few weeks after the nuptials, Chad — in a move he decided before the wedding— switched his name back to Johnson.

Evelyn planned to also make the change to Johnson, but after they were married. The only problem is Lozada has not received her official marriage paperwork yet. And she can’t legally change her name to match Chad’s until it arrives.

Making matters even more complicated: TMZ reports that Chad still wants Ochocinco to be part of his name, and that he’s adding it before the “Johnson” the following football season.

So when the name game is over, he’ll be Chad Javon Ochocinco Johnson and she’ll be Evelyn Alexandra Lozada Ochocinco Johnson… and we’ll all be fatigued trying to remember the monikers.

But, honestly, a name tied to the man’s family history suits a newlywed couple better than one tied to his Jersey. Smart move, Chad. Now let’s see about having some kids.

Star Jones Spearheads Petition Against Basketball Wives, Evelyn Lozada

Published by Natasha Fierce on Friday, April 27, 2012 at 10:15 am.

The drama on Basketball Wives seems to have finally crossed the line from ratings-booster to public disgrace. A group of fans lead by—who else—Star Jones have launched a petition to stop the insanity on the show, in particular calling out ish-starter Evelyn Lozada for her “bullying.” The petitioners want to make Evelyn pay for her bad behavior by calling on network execs to cancel her spin-off show, Chad & Ev.

The petition reads:

Evelyn Lozada is a bully. The violence on “Basketball Wives” is horrible and disgraceful. Physical assaults, threats, verbal abuse, and harassment. VH1 is rewarding this behavior by giving Evelyn a spinoff. Don’t reward negative behavior.

This is not a hate petition against Eveyln Lozada. We simply will not support violence. It hurts to see violence amongst women on television for entertainment purposes. It is not ok for women to hit each other on TV.

As far as we recall, it takes two to tango, but, if you feel so inclined

Basketball Wives’ Jennifer Williams Sues Evelyn Lozada’s Assistant

Published by Natasha Fierce on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 10:00 am.

(Photo: Johnny Louis/WENN.com)

Jennifer Williams is taking her fight with Evelyn Lozada’s assistant Nia Crooks from the street to the court room. The Basketball Wives star, who was slapped by Crooks during an altercation on the show, is suing her former friend’s employee for “negligent, reckless and careless” behavior.

Williams filed a civil complaint in Manhattan Supreme Court alleging assault and battery against Crooks, referencing the fight that took place on January 21 in a VIP suite at the Gulfstream Park race track in Florida.

“Someone needs to put a number on this bitch and let her race around the track because she’s acting like an animal,” Williams said of Crooks on Monday’s episode of the VH1 series.

According to court papers, Williams sustained “serious injuries” and “suffered pain, shock [and] mental anguish” after being slapped by Crooks as their cast mates and crew members jumped to break up the fight. Williams is seeking monetary and punitive damages.

In addition to the suit filed in Manhattan, Williams’ attorney Sanford Rubenstein says his client also filed a criminal complaint in Florida.

“Violence used against any woman is wrong,”  the reality star tells the New York Daily News. “I chose to use the justice system to fight back. If I can have a positive effect for women by fighting back with civil litigation it serves an important purpose.”

Even if she doesn’t win the monetary damages from the suit, Williams should get a nice salary bump from VH1 for this extra credit drama. But a positive effect on women? You keep telling yourself that, Jenny. Still, the former Mrs. Eric Williams does seem pretty traumatized by the event, and she has the right to put our criminal justice system to use. So, go get yours, girl.
