Barbara also said, ‚ÄúOprah‚Äôs brand is that she‚Äôs a nice, caring generous giving person ‚ÄĒ that‚Äôs not how it is ‚ÄĒ she‚Äôs controlling, it‚Äôs all about control.‚ÄĚ She then added, ‚ÄúMy crime, I think, was to talk to her like a normal person ‚ÄĒ and she didn‚Äôt like that one bit.‚ÄĚ
The talk show queen’s ex-stepmom also gave tidbits about Oprah‚Äôs level of hospitality when Barbara and Vernon visited Oprah‚Äôs Indiana estate. ‚ÄúThat first night, she didn‚Äôt have anything to say to us hardly at all; she wasn‚Äôt warm at all,‚ÄĚ Barbara said. And the following morning she claims, ‚ÄúOprah got on to the intercom and announced, ‚ÄėNegroes in the house, Negroes in the house!‚Äô‚ÄĚ Barbara added, ‚ÄúShe thought it was funny; I thought it was insulting‚Ķ some people you can‚Äôt take the ghetto out of.‚ÄĚ
Finally, Barbara finished her lengthy interview with this sentiment, “I just don‚Äôt understand how I could have made her so angry that she would kick me out on the street and think nothing about it. But that‚Äôs Oprah ‚ÄĒ she ‚Äės judge and jury.‚ÄĚ
And this chick is wondering why Oprah wanted her to sign a confidentiality agreement upon offering her a house? Jeez!
