By now most have heard the story about Oprah Winfreyâs former stepmother Barbara Winfrey, whose currently facing eviction from her home. The recap is as follows, upon divorcing Oprahâs dad Vernon Winfrey, Oprah’s free and clear offered Barbara one home or fifty percent proceeds on a home she never owned if she signed a confidentiality agreement. Barbara refused to sign the agreement and now sheâs in court facing eviction.
But wait, thereâs more. Now Barbara is speaking out against Oprah in the press. Among some of the gems sheâs dropped about the media queen include, âYou find out quickly where your place is with Oprah,â Barbara told Mail Online. âAnd you get in that place and you stay in that place.â
Barbara also said, âOprahâs brand is that sheâs a nice, caring generous giving person â thatâs not how it is â sheâs controlling, itâs all about control.â She then added, âMy crime, I think, was to talk to her like a normal person â and she didnât like that one bit.â
The talk show queen’s ex-stepmom also gave tidbits about Oprahâs level of hospitality when Barbara and Vernon visited Oprahâs Indiana estate. âThat first night, she didnât have anything to say to us hardly at all; she wasnât warm at all,â Barbara said. And the following morning she claims, âOprah got on to the intercom and announced, âNegroes in the house, Negroes in the house!ââ Barbara added, âShe thought it was funny; I thought it was insulting⊠some people you canât take the ghetto out of.â
Finally, Barbara finished her lengthy interview with this sentiment, “I just donât understand how I could have made her so angry that she would kick me out on the street and think nothing about it. But thatâs Oprah â she âs judge and jury.â
And this chick is wondering why Oprah wanted her to sign a confidentiality agreement upon offering her a house? Jeez!
