Gabby Douglas Nearly Quit Gymnastics for Job at Chick-Fil-A

Can you believe that Gabby Douglas almost gave up her history winning turn in Olympic gymnastics for a job in fast food? Believe it. The teen champion told People of her almost regretful choice. Apparently, she ambushed her coaches and family with the news: She wanted to quit gymnastics – and maybe attempt to get a gig at Chick-fil-A.
“What,” she said, “was I thinking?”
We were asking the same thing. Then again, kids can make some snap decisions without much forethought. Luckily, wisdom and history was on Gabby’s side.
Her new memoir Grace, Gold & Glory: My Leap of Faith will be published on December 4.
