Halle Berry Slaps Cease and Desist Order on Auction House

Mom-to-be for the second time Halle Berry should have better things on her mind these days than wrangling with an auction house. But due to a property mix-up she had to throw down…slightly.

Halle had to nix a Canadian auction advertised as the sale of 400 items belonging to the Oscar winner because none of the stuff is hers.

This past weekend Berry’s attorney sent a cease and desist letter to The Montreal Auction House to inform them that none of the items in their possession were ever owned or used by Halle. The rare and prized collectibles include a nail clipper, hairbrush and an antique couch.

When it was uncovered that the storage stuff actually belongs to Halle’s former boyfriend Gabriel Aubry, auctioneers had to scramble to postpone the auction, originally set for this past Monday. The new rescheduled date is July 21.

So, anyone interested in cool, bacheloresque zebra skin rug owned by Gabriel? (That’s also one of the auction items available.) It can be yours for the right price.

Halle Berry Might Die Like Princess Diana, Lawyer Says

Published by on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 10:00 am.

Will Halle Berry face the same deadly fate as Princess Diana if she moves to France?

That’s what Gabriel Aubry’s lawyer said in court. Halle and Gabriel are locked in a court fight over whether Halle should be allowed to move to France with the ex-couple’s daughter Nahla. Halle wants to move because of strict no-paparazzi laws, leaving their child better protected from aggressive photogs.

But Gabriel’s lawyer said that would be dangerous for the actress because France is where Princess Diana died in a crash caused by paparazzi chasing her car.

We can’t say how well that argument is because, under French laws, paparazzi can’t photograph celebrities if they don’t want to be photographed.

But when you’re a father fighting to keep your child close to you, any argument is good and reasonable.

Halle Berry’s Ex Gabriel Aubry Looking to “Substantially Increase” Spousal Support Payments

Published by Natasha Fierce on Friday, May 4, 2012 at 10:59 am.

Gabriel Aubry is trying to squeeze Halle Berry like orange juice. Berry’s ex, who is father to her daughter Nahla, dragged her back to court yesterday and asked a judge to order her to “substantially increase” his monthly paycheck.

Luckily for Halle, the judge had no time to hear Aubry’s sorry pleas for cash, and granted a continuance. This is just the latest scuffle between the bitter exes, who have made a nearly monthly habit of standing before a judge to complain about each other, claim the other is an unfit parent and fight for full custody of the three-and-a-half year old. Sad.

We love how Aubry, who is a male model and actor, is trying to upgrade his seat on the gravy train right around the time Berry is making moves to re-locate to France with her daughter and her hunky fiance Olivier Martinez. Jealous, much?

Halle Berry Wants To Silence Possible Tell-All by Gabriel Aubry

The latest in the Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry child custody saga involves a hush contract.

According to, Berry is trying to get her ex-beau and baby’s father locked into a non-disclosure agreement to keep him from revealing juicy details about their tumultuous relationship.

It was reported that Aubry’s friends have been urging him to pen a tell-all book about his relationship with the Oscar-winning actress. Even though he is hesitant to make such a move—wanting to spare the feelings of his daughter, Nahla—a source close to the situation said he’d been approached by publishers “offering high six figures.”

While he’s wary of such offers, a source said Aubry is also sick of being portrayed as an “an abusive father, a racist and a fool.” So he may go for Berry’s agreement, but the Canadian model is planning to make her pay dearly for it… in dividends.

“Gabe has finally woken up and is going for the money because he knows there is no way he can fight to keep his daughter without it,” the source says. “If he doesn’t get the money he wants from Halle, he is going to go ahead a write a tell-all. Gabe has two separate high six figure offers on the table from New York publishers. Halle is terrified of this happening; it’s her worst nightmare come true — and she’s talking settlement money but locking Gabe into a non-disclosure deal. So one way or another he’s going to get paid.”

You can just imagine Gabriel mouthing the words, “Checkmate, b****!,” to Halle at the negotiating table.

Halle Berry Hires New Lawyer for Custody Case

Published by on Friday, March 2, 2012 at 10:00 am.

Halle Berry’s baby daddy, Gabriel Aubry, isn’t fazed that the Oscar winning actress has ditched her long time attorney, Neil Hersh, for legal heavyweight, Stephen Kolodny, in her ongoing custody battle with him over their daughter Nahla. In fact, he feels it helps his case.

Last we reported, Halle was trying to secure permission from a judge for her and Nahla’s move to France to be with Berry’s fiancé Olivier Martinez, a move Aubry vehemently rejected. This development came shortly after Halle’s nanny alleged that Gabe physically attacked her while she was holding Nahla, a claim he vehemently denied. According to a judge ruled recently that Gabe’s visitation with his daughter must be supervised, and that he isn’t allowed to have her for overnight visits.

Since the family judge hasn’t given a ruling on Halle’s request for the move to France, the actress has decided to change lawyers, hiring Kolodny because “he is known as a bulldozer.” Unfortunately for the Monster’s Ball star, a formal ruling on her move  could take up to a year.

In the mean time, Gabriel is doing everything he can to prove he is the best parent possible, also spending as much time as permitted with his daughter. “Gabe’s attending his court ordered anger management sessions and parenting classes,” says one source. “He isn’t a bad guy, he is trying to be the best dad possible to Nahla.”

In the end Gabe feels his exes decision to switch lawyers could help him because “he thinks it shows how desperate and impatient she is.” As far as Halle’s desire to move to France, he believes it’s just another plot to keep him out of Nahla’s life.

The source says Aubry feels that, in the end,  Nahla is the collateral damage in all of this.

She sure is, Gabe. But do you think Halle’s paying any attention to this?

Is Halle Berry Engaged…Again?

Published by Dior Noir on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 10:30 am.

(Photo: Evan Agostini/PictureGroup)

After two failed marriages Halle Berry swore up and down she’d never jump the broom again. Still, the Oscar-winning actress set the grapevine off with engagement speculation after she was photographed wearing an emerald ring on her left hand ring finger, one that looked very similar to a ring she wore January of last year when reports first circulated that her beau  Olivier Martinez had popped the question.

The actress met her newest man on the set of their upcoming thriller, Dark Tide. But is she thinking about walking down the aisle with him?

Back  in 2004 the Halle swore off marriage, telling Oprah: “I will never marry again. I mean it with every bone in my body. I no longer feel the need to be someone’s wife, and I don’t need the validation of a marriage certificate.” It makes perfect sense that she would feel that way after going through bitter divorces with David Justice and then Eric Benet and still battling her ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry over custody of 3-year-old daughter Nahlah.

Maybe Halle’s going for the “third time is a charm” happy ending? After ended her five-year relationship with Aubry, she told the September 2010 issue of Vogue, “I’m not done with love, but I refuse to settle. I am a hopeless romantic. And I won’t stop till I get it right.”

Or maybe she just likes to rock one of her favorite rings and just happened to wear it on that finger. Neither the couple or their reps are saying either way.

Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry Call Truce

Published by Runteldat on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at 12:00 am.

As Halle Berry celebrates a short-term win in what looks to be a long legal fight, she and Gabriel Aubry have reportedly decided to stop the public mudslinging while they endure their custody battle. says the two have called a truce for now, and while it may not exactly be complete peace, it won’t be the all-out war they were heading towards.

They report:

Halle is not going to seek sole custody of Nahla, the source says, adding that legal threats have been flying behind the scenes.

Several negative items about Aubry have appeared in the media recently, and Halle released a statement through her rep, saying she was “concerned” for her child’s well-being while she was in Gabriel’s care.

It appears the two are even on speaking terms now.

As for the aforementioned legal victory for Berry, TMZ says a judge has ruled she will be allowed to take her daughter, Nahla, with her as she prepares to shoot a new film.

They also added that Gabriel has withdrawn his public custody petition, but is still filing a paternity action that will be kept private within the court.

Drake: ‘I’m One of the Best Jews to Ever do it’

Published by Dior Noir on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 3:00 pm.

Drake and his mother, Sandi Graham

While every one’s tripping over whether it’s “right” to call Halle Berry’s daughter Nahla “Black”…or not because her dad, Gabriel Aubry, is French Canadian, another Canadian we know, Drake, isn’t afraid to claim the other half of his mixed race.

Drake’s mother is a White Jewish Canadian and his father is African-American. TMZ asked the rapper ”Who do you think is a better Jew, you or Harvey Levin” (their executive editor). Drake responded: “I don’t know, I’m one of the best Jews to do it ever in life.” Well, move over Moses!

Drake’s also very proud of his home country. “I’m a very patriotic Canadian,” he said.

See folks. Not everything had to be so black or white all the time. For those who apply, shouldn’t it be okay to acknowledge both?

Halle Berry: Nahla IS Black!

Published by Dior Noir on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 12:15 pm.

Halle Berry’s ex Gabriel Aubry allegedly gets mad when anyone calls their daughter, Nahla, “Black” but in the latest issue of Ebony magazine, where Halle graces the cover, the actress recognizes the other half of her daughters roots: “I feel like she’s Black. I’m Black and I’m her mother and I believe in the one-drop theory,” she said.

Halle has a White mother and a Black father so she can identify with growing up mixed, but while she considers her daughter to be Black, she said she’ll let Nahla decide how she wants to be categorized as she grows up: ”I’m not going to put a label on it. I had to decide for myself and that’s what she’s going to have to decide – how she identifies herself in the world. And I think, largely, that will be based on how the world identifies her. That’s how I identified myself. But I feel like she’s Black.”

Of course Halle did this interview awhile ago before the custody funk hit the fan in the media, but I’m glad she said it. Why deny any parts of their daughter’s heritage?

Halle also made a point to say that while she has dated different races, she’s not backing away from the Black community:

“I’m very connected to my community and I want Black people to know that I haven’t abandoned them because I’ve had a child with a man outside of my race and I’m dating someone now outside of my race who is Spanish and French. I have never been more clear about who I am as a Black woman. The people I have dated sort of hold up a mirror to me and help me realize more of who I really am.”

Well there it is. Now that we’re clear on where Halle stands, maybe now this custody battle can move away from being a race issue and get on the track where the broken couple finds a solution that’s in the best interest of their daughter.

Tia Mowry Reveals Her Baby’s Gender + Halle Berry’s Drama Continues

Published by Dior Noir on Friday, February 4, 2011 at 1:05 pm.

Get the blue ready! Tia Mowry and her husband, Cory Hardrict, have announced they’re having a baby boy in July.

I admit, I wanted her to have twin girls because how cute would that have been (yes, I watched too much Sister, Sister as a kid), but it’s absolutely adorable to see how Cory is already gushing over his son. “Tia and I are very excited to be bringing life into this world,” he told “Just thinking about my child coming here brings a tear to my eyes and I will try to be the best father in the universe!”

The baby will make his first on-screen appearance on the Style Network in a show that documents the pregnancy that will air later this year. I wonder if the tot will follow his parent’s acting footsteps and double as Tia’s on-screen son as well in a future season of The Game?

In not so happy celebrity parent news, Halle Berry’s ex Gabriel Aubry just can’t get a break in the press this week. In addition to the accusations that he hurls racial slurs at Halle, now sources are saying Gabriel goes “nuts” whenever anyone refers to their daughter, Nahla, as “Black.” TMZ reports:

“Whenever Gabriel would read a story about Nahla that referred to her as ‘Black,’ he would go off, insisting his baby was white. We’re told Gabriel would tell Halle and others they should demand a ‘retraction’ when such references were made regarding his daughter.”

Do you buy it? It just sounds a little too ridiculous to me. All these “sources” and “friends” that keep blabbing to the press should zip it and let the couple work this out on their own. One day Nahla’s going to be able to read all these accusations. SMH.
