With friends like these…who needs Republicans? Matt Damon, once a FOB (Friend of Barack’s), voiced his displeasure with the President in an interview with Elle magazine.
“I’ve talked to a lot of people who worked for Obama at the grass-roots level. One of them said to me, ‘Never again. I will never be fooled again by a politician,’ ” said the actor, who hasn’t always sung Obama’s praises. “You know, a one-term president with some (nerve) who actually got stuff done would have been, in the long run of the country, much better.” Side note: Damon actually didn’t say “nerve,” but used a word I guess Elle is too polite to print.
Damon, who conducted the interview on the first day of the Occupy Wall Street protests in Vancouver, gestured in the direction of the picketers before adding, “If the Democrats think that they didn’t have a mandate — people are literally without any focus or leadership, just wandering out into the streets to yell right now because they are so pissed off,” he said. “Imagine if they had a leader.”
How do you like them apples?
Disappointing as he may be to many Americans, Obama still has a lot of friends in Hollywood, including Damon’s BFF George Clooney. Imagine if little Matt found himself cut out of the next Ocean’s Eleven movie…
