Christina Milian on The-Dream: You Can Mistake Lust for Love!

If hindsight is 20/20, Christina Milian’s vision is pretty sharp now that her divorce to The-Dream is final.  The singer sat down with Neicy Nash’s Yahoo series Let’s Talk About Love and reflected on her  very public marriage, cheating scandal and divorce.

“A lot of men will say ‘I can’t believe a guy would cheat on Christina,’ It’s happened!” Christina said, noting that taking care of home and staying fly wasn’t enough to keep him from straying. “Beauty has nothing to do with it. I know I’m a really good wife, I know I’m a really good girlfriend, I know that we’re supposed to take blame for certain things but I gotta say I’m pretty good at all those things!”

In case you forgot, Christina divorced The-Dream in late 2009 — three months after their wedding amid allegations that he was cheating while she was pregnant (she later gave birth to their daughter Violet in 2010).  We saw the pictures of him gallivanting with the chick on the beach and got mad for Christina, but at least she learned something. The biggest lesson she’s walking away with: “Sometimes we just get so carried away with love, we might even mistake some things like lust.”

Clap for perspective!

And while she doesn’t seem to be rushing into the next relationship, Christina is still making moves for herself post divorce. Next up she’ll take on a new job as a correspondence on the NBC show The Voice.

Christina Milian Says: “I’ve been to hell and back.”

Published by Runteldat on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at 12:00 am.

In her new interview with Latina magazine, Christina Milian opens up about her failed marriage to mega producer and “singer,” The-Dream.

Christina says her gut was telling her something wasn’t right and after realizing that it wasn’t, she notes what she’s learned.

On the end of her marriage to The-Dream: “No matter what, you can’t change who you are. I know that now. I tried to be someone I wasn’t because I wanted my marriage to work. But ultimately, if it’s not working, it’s not working.”

On the cheating scandal: “I didn’t know anything. But looking back, my gut was telling me something was off. But I thought I could fix it.”

On lessons learned: “I learned a lot about myself this year. I learned what I can handle. I learned how much I can take. I learned who I am and what I will accept for myself and my daughter.”

On becoming a mom: “Being a new mother definitely makes me feel so much sexier than ever before. There’s a certain responsibility that I carry being a mom that makes me feel very confident and so blessed. Being a mom is the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”

On what’s next: “I feel brand new. I’ve been to hell and back, but I survived. I’m stronger for it and now I’m ready for the next phase of my life.”

This is your cue to say “umm hmm” and proceed to roll your neck while dually snapping your fingers in solidarity. Yes, girl, you will survive and you don’t need him, etc.

Here’s to hoping she’s learned never to go blonde again!

Christina Milian Clears Up Divorce Settlement Rumors

Published by Dior Noir on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at 3:00 pm.

A few weeks ago, it was reported that Christina Milian received a $4 million divorce settlement and $5,000 a month in child support in exchange for a gag order that bars her from talking about the The-Dream or their marriage. Well, Christina sat down with gossip queen Wendy Williams yesterday and said none of that’s true.

“Everything about that is all fictitious,” Milian said on The Wendy Williams Show. “Everything…the gag order. I’m completely allowed to speak about anything that I want to. Except the settlement, we do choose to not make that public.”

The singer said the  rumor spread after a credible news source picked it up off the Internet, but she maintains that her relationship with The-Dream remains amicable. “I didn’t want to fight…I really want my daughter to have her father around and to have a friendship, to try to build somewhat of a friendship for my daughter, and have some kind of relationship to be able to speak to each other about her every day. I didn’t want to fight. I’m moving on.”

Although she did mention she’s still holding on to one part of the marriage: she still has the ring. My girl! Hopefully the part about her getting a good settlement and child support comes true too. If The-Dream has ends to take his side pieces on vacation, we know he’s got the means to do right by his daughter.  At least it’s nice to hear that the divorce isn’t as ugly as the rumors had it.

Christina Milian Strikes Back

Published by Runteldat on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 12:00 am.

The-Dream continues his campaign for Man of the Year with news that he had his wife, Christina Milian, sign an agreement that prevented her from getting any alimony while she was on bed rest.

Yes, he approached her with a divorce agreement that would keep his money in his pocket while she was nine months pregnant, lying in bed and waiting to deliver his baby.

TMZ has the word on this charmer:

In her legal response, filed last week in Georgia, Milian claims the marriage wasn’t really kaput when he filed the divorce docs — and subsequently had “marital relations on numerous occasions.”

But Milian also claims that if the court does grant the divorce — it shouldn’t be based on The-Dream’s claim that the marriage is “irretrievably broken” — but rather because the The-Dream was cheating on her.

Milian’s attorneys will argue that she was in no condition to sign those kind of important documents.

And I’m pretty sure a judge will grant her request and toss them out.

Nice try, though, Terius.

Christina, call Kelis. I’m sure she can offer some good advice.

When Did The-Dream End It With Christina?

Published by Runteldat on Friday, July 23, 2010 at 12:00 am.

When The-Dream claimed his marriage to Christina Milian was over only a few months after it started, not many believed him.

Well, for The-Dream, TMZ has good news and bad news.

The good news is there may be some truth to his previous claims. The bad news is that the confirmation makes him look even worse than he already does to many.

The site reports:

TMZ has learned …. Christina Milian’s husband — The-Dream — filed for divorce nine days before she gave birth to their only child.

According to documents filed in Georgia and obtained by TMZ, The-Dream — aka Terius Nash — claims the marriage is “irretrievably broken.”

The-Dream filed his papers on February 17, but the docs never surfaced until we found out.

Milian gave birth to their only child, a daughter, on February 26.

In the divorce docs, The-Dream declares, “There is no hope for reconciliation.”

Who dumps their wife literally days before she gives birth to your child? Can you imagine the kind of stress that put on an already stressed out woman?

Someone hire The-Dream a wiz of a publicist, stat.

Friend Claims The-Dream Tried To Control Christina Milian

Published by Runteldat on Friday, July 16, 2010 at 12:00 am.

An alleged friend of Christina Milian has come to lash out at her soon-to-be-ex-husband, The-Dream.

She accuses him of trying to control her career by “not allowing her to work with any other producers” while “giving her leftover songs” intended for other artists. This friend even says The-Dream purposely leaked the songs they did together to ruin the project.

This while she says he would belittle Christina about “all he did for her” – purposely being mentally abusive.

She writes to Media Take Out:

“He constantly tried to argue with her about her family and to this day blames it on her side.. but Christina moved to Atlanta while everyone was in LA and it became clear that all anyone could do to make her happy at that time was let her go.. and they did.. but he continued to go at her with the same problems while she dedicated this “new life” to him, pushing aside her career and family for him..

He even faked illness to drag her further into this misery.. Christina was forced to play mommy to a newborn and to a full grown man and had no time to attend to herself, forcing her family to make extended visits in order to help her..”

The-Dream and Christina Milian Have Split!

Published by Dior Noir on Monday, July 12, 2010 at 4:00 pm.

Sigh, another day, another celeb couple bites the dust. It seems like just  yesterday The-Dream was denying breakup and cheating rumors now his rep has confirmed with US Weekly magazine that it’s a wrap between him and Christina Milian:

Terius ‘The-Dream’ Nash is saddened to announce that his marriage to Christina Milian was unsuccessful. The couple reached this decision in late 2009, but decided to keep the news private in efforts to protect their baby daughter Violet. They ask for consideration and respect for their family moving forward.”

We knew something was up when we started to see pictures of Terius getting cozy with a woman in the Caribbean who was not his wife (see below for example) pop up today. Then Christina hit her Twitter account today and said (in all caps) “WHATEVER YOU THINK…BELIEVE IT.”

According to multiple reports the woman in the pictures is The-Dream’s assistant of a year, Melissa Santiago. Looks like Terius really thinks he is a “Love King!”

Christina Milian and The-Dream eloped last September in Las Vegas, and got married a second time in December in Rome. They welcomed their first daughter together, Violet, 5 months ago although The-Dream also has three children from a previous marriage to singer Nivea.

What are your thoughts on the breakup?

Ciara Defends The Dream’s ‘Diss’

Published by Dior Noir on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at 3:00 pm.

Ciara fans came at The Dream so hard, after he made some choice comments about her career, that he deleted his whole Twitter account! But as far as Ci-Ci is concerned “it’s all love.”

The “diss” in question? Parlour magazine asked The Dream if Ciara’s forthcoming album “Basic Instinct” is her last shot at stardom and he said: “You only get so many times to, and I won’t say fail, but not achieve. There’s an expectation of where Ciara should be in her career. To others, she’s achieved but not to us, because we saw where her career was headed.”

Angela Yee asked Ciara about it and while she admitted The Dream’s comments “came out wrong” she insisted that there’s no bad blood between the two. “Let me tell you one thing about Dream, if you don’t know him you’ll misunderstand him,”Ciara said in his defense. “One thing about him is he has a big heart, you know so he never means to come from the wrong place however sometime when he speaks, he might say something and it comes off a certain way. So I talked to him and I really got on him.  I was like ‘yo what are you talking about!? I don’t even understand what you’re trying to say.’ But we talked about it. We’re like family…it did come out wrong but it’s all love. We’re like brother and sister.”

Even if The Dream really did mean every word of his comments (he has since said they were taken out of context) who better than “family” to keep it real with you and push you to do better?

The-Dream On Cheating Rumors, Calling The Nanny To Change Diapers

Published by Runteldat on Monday, June 21, 2010 at 11:50 am.

The-Dream often comes across as one of the classiest guys around.

I mean, he once said that he dumped Nivea because she wasn’t “hot” anymore and now in a new interview, he makes it known that when it comes to handling the baby — call grandma or a nanny.

The homie has things to do, ya’ll.

In an interview with Parlour magazine, The-Dream explains why he doesn’t want to give his wife, Christina Milian, false hope, that he’s going to like do any of that “labor” stuff while at home.

Do you help Christina out when you’re home?

I don’t because my “helping out” turns into expectations. I’ll get Violet on a late night maybe one or two times, but after that, no. If Christina’s tired, call the nanny, call Violet’s granny. We got people.

Happy Belated Father’s Day!

Well, things could be worse. You know, at least he’s not cheating. Shame on the bloggers for trying to say he was.

PARLOUR: We recently saw a rumor that you and wife Christina are experiencing issues because you’re unfaithful… on camera. True?

The-Dream: The rumors are not true and it really boils my blood. Christina and I are cool. People keep asking, ‘Why haven’t we seen you guys out together?’ I’m working, that’s why you haven’t seen us. She’s at work too in Los Angeles. The women in the pictures are actually legitimate friends of mine. The photo with me in the car and another woman… she’s a good friend who’s at my house all the time. It’s sad, because [the blogs] have humiliated her. She feels bad, I feel bad and you don’t know what that [judgement] does to that person. Who takes responsibility for that? I understand freedom of speech but if I made my living spreading rumors about people, my family wouldn’t claim me.

Thankfully, I don’t have to make up any rumors in this instance. The-Dream does a good job of making himself look wonderful in his own words.
