R&B singer Ruben Studdard is going from winning big to losing it all. The season two winner of American Idol will be competing on the 2013 season of The Biggest Loser. It should come as no surprise to fans and followers that his journey in reality TV would take this path. The Velvet Teddy Bear has battled with bulge for several years. At his overweight peak, Studdard clocked in at a very heavy and unhealthy 400 pounds, which is allegedly the weight he is at now.
During his Idol days he shaved 100 pounds off his maximum weight using a program from the Duke Diet and Fitness Center. Back then Ruben was put on 1,200-1,500 calorie diet a day and after he left the center he temporarily became a vegetarian.
Ruben once told former Today host Meredith Viera that, “We’re from Alabama and we love to eat.” But these days it seems geography has nothing to do with his current quest to get and stay healthy. Good luck Teddy Bear and get fit soon!

As Queen Latifah gears up to host tonight’s People’s Choice Awards, the singer-actress is also getting her diet back in gear after some serious holiday play, she tells People magazine.
“I’m glad I re-signed [with Jenny Craig] because I had a little fun over the holidays, as most people do,” says Latifah, 38, who announced this month that she would continue as the spokesperson for the weight-loss program.
“I went to Trinidad and I indulged in everything,” she says, admitting to falling off the wagon temporarily while on vacation. “It wasn’t that I wasn’t eating healthy stuff. It was just a lot of it. There’s always a beach barbeque.”
But she is putting the chicken stews and the rum punch away to get back to “a size healthy.” Working out regularly and swimming, she’s confident: “I will knock this weight back down. I know it,” she says

In 2008, talk show goddess Oprah Winfrey went public about her 40-pound weight gain, saying she was embarrassed and angry at herself about it.
Now? She says she’s done with the excuses.
The media mogul tells MSCNC.com that she’s just going to make time in her crazy schedule for exercise.
“This is the year of hopefulness. My goal is to be the weight that my body can hold and be healthy and strong and fit and be itself,” she says.
