Angela Simmons Poses for Derek Blanks + Rocks Fashizblack Magazine With Sister Vanessa

January 11th, 2011

Solo Star!

Even though her sister Vanessa has the formal Ford model background, Angela Simmons knows how to work a camera too. Before she posted pictures of herself on Twitter testing out a new blonde ‘do, the businesswoman posed for Atlanta-based celeb photographer Derek Blanks for a sexy shoot. Check out some of the pics:

Shake a tail feather! Hot look.

A play on business chic–with shorts and a sequined tuxedo-style jacket–is fresh and fun for this Pastry co-owner.

Giving subtle sexy in an over-sized button-up over a tank, pearls and metal plated boots.

Working it in lots of layers.

Though Angela had her moment to shine alone, she went overseas with her sister to pose for Paris based magazine Fashizblack . The behind-the-scene shots and video at the January issue cover shoot show the duo getting playful in over-sized cardigans, thigh-high socks, shorts and sexy boots and booties as well as sophisticated in flirty silk shirts and dresses with ladylike hats.

Angela Simmons Lit Up Her Pastry ‘Box of Chocolates’ Shoe Launch

August 20th, 2010

Flashing lights!

Vanessa and Angela Simmons jetted to Vegas to launch their lattest offering of Pastry shoes, The Box of Chocolates collection. The sisters were fly, as usual, but I have to give it up to Angela for her ensemble!  Younger sis worked it in a chic black dress with puffed shoulder detail (and bright orange nails that perfectly popped against it) and…wait for it, wait for it: light up Jimmy Choo Platform heels!

Angela’s $2,5000 Choos would’ve been glamorous enough with out the flashy trick, but the light up effect!? I die! Reminds me of the fun of LA Gear’s when I was a kid, but with 100X more sexy.  Can you imagine strutting through the club with those bad boys?

But back to the shoes that the girls were out to promote. The sisters have said that they got the idea for the collection, that has the mantra “fun, fly and fit,” from their personal commitment to fitness and staying healthy. These sneakers aren’t just for show, they have functionality that allows you to wear them while getting it right and keeping it tight. The collection includes a dance sneaker, which the girls posed with at the launch, as well as a running sneaker.

Don’t fret, unlike the Angela’s bank-breaking Jimmy Choos, the Pastry Box of Chocolate line starts at $70 so you can indulge guilt free. See more at

Which Simmons Girl Had Better Style?

May 31st, 2010

One event, two looks. Who did it better?

Just in time for Memorial Day, Rev. Run’s daughters Vanessa and Angela Simmons had a little fun during New York’s Fleet Week (SATC fans might remember this occasion as a time to honor the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps — and scope hot men in uniform around The City!).

The girls hosted an event, “Pastry Salutes the Troops,” at the Intrepid Sea-Air-Space museum and each wore attention-grabbing outfits for the occasion.

Angela looked ready for the club in a metallic corset top, liquid leggings and studded, suede knee high boots. Her wavy locks and dewy makeup look gorgeous, but that’s an…interesting look for the occasion. The younger Simmons was joined by new singer Jessica Jerrell who was more casual in camouflage shorts but added a touch of bling with a sparkly hoodie (that she could’ve thrown a shirt on under) and Pastry kicks.

OK PSA ladies: say NO to camel toe! We tease the menfolk for wearing jewel suffocating skinny jeans but wearing leggings (or shorts) that give a frontal wedgie is equally unattractive. Going up a size can help solve that problem, and if you find yourself in between sizes drop that bottom and opt for another cut!

Big sis Vanessa cut up in slashed leggings with an Army green button up and slouchier knee high boots and showed off her newer short ‘do (it’s the “Year of Shears” I tell ya!). She managed to stay trendy while wearing an outfit that’s more feasible for walking down the street. I hope she brought Aviator shades!
