Your opinions were pretty split on Breezy’s blonde hair last time we talked about it: like me, some of you weren’t feeling it (cue Common: “if I don’t like it, I don’t like it. That don’t mean that I’m hating.”) while others of you liked the change or think Chris looks fine no matter what.
Well, Chris took a break from rehearsals for his Australian F.A.M.E. tour to call into Atlanta radio station Hot 107.9 and explain his blonde ambition. He also admitted that even he had to chuckle at some of the cracks on his new dye job. “I was even laughing at some of the jokes on Twitter,” he said. “I got ‘gold dust,’ ‘Amber Rose,’ ‘Sisqo.’ But I just laugh at them. I don’t care about people’s opinions as much anymore.”
His explanation for the new ‘do was pretty simple: “It’s just something I needed to change.”
Chris said the look was inspired by the new direction he’s going with his upcoming album F.A.M.E.which hits shelves March 22. ”I think artistically, where I’m at creatively, mentally with my project, with my art, me painting, and just becoming a man and just finding myself, I’m really just doing me,” he said. ”I’m being a rock star. If I wanna dye my hair purple tomorrow, I might just change it up. It’s all about how I’m just living life and having fun.”
Even if I still think he looks like “Arnez” from One on One, I can dig that sentiment. Variety is the spice of life!
For those who have already started to question his sexuality because of the new hair color, Chris made sure to make it clear: “I’m still strictly with the ladies!”
Yes, Chris Brown, I remember the era of Dennis Rodman, Sisqo and even the “Golden Lords” from that ‘93 film Meteor Man too and I’m guessing that’s where the inspiration for this came from:
Or maybe Amber Rose was the muse?
Chris hit his Twitter page, @chrisbrown, yesterday and Tweeted the picture above with a caption “Look at me now.” I imagine it’s nearly impossible to miss him in the streets with this bleach blonde ‘do. He shared a few more pictures so we can get the full effect.
Judging by his pout faces I’m going to go out on a limb here and conclude that blondes do not have more fun.
Yeah…and that’s pretty much the same face I made when I saw the new dye job.
At least one person approved: Sisqo got a glimpse of the pictures and Tweeted, “WOWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!” before adding, “I KNOW why I’m trending…shout out ta @chrisbrown. I see u, homie.”
The Chris Brown “comeback” continues with his return to film in a new movie Takers. In the movie Brown plays Jesse Attica, the youngest member in a gang of thieves which also includes Idris Elba and rapper/actor T.I Last night the “Deuces” singer joined his hunky co-stars and a host of other fab folks for the LA premiere of the film which will hits theaters August 27th. I’m usually feeling Chris’ style but the verdict’s out on this one:
The singer wore an all black look of slacks, an untucked shirt and vest and added splashy accents including leopard print Christian Louboutin sneakers and a Louis Vuitton scarf. He was obviously going for casual cool, but it just looks thrown together and unfinished. Those shades are a good look though!
Later in the night Breezy was snapped in a two-tone jean outfit (cut-off shorts!?) with a graphic T. The shades were a good save again, but otherwise this outfit is a big snooze. The singer is the king of styles that are both fresh and laid back and he’s also cleand up really nicely on red carpets in the past but last night? Underwhelming. I want that old Chris back!
The verdict’s out on Breezy’s latest video look. VOTE!
I can’t get enough of studs right now: spiky heels, dresses and shirts with embellished shoulders, decorated bags, all of it! What’s so great about this detailing is that it can instantly turn the blandest item into a head-turning statement piece. Leave it to Chris Brown–who has been experimenting with different styles lately–to try to shine in this trend in his latest video video with Tyga and Kevin McCall, “Deuces.”
In the video, Chris wore Gucci 1627/S sunglasses ($198) and went shirtless in a Bess “Billy” vest ($460) that features all over studding on the shoulders and back side panels and a frayed spread collar. A closer look:
Chris has been chastised for some of his style choices lately: namely his new signature bow tie and occasional foray into skinny jeans, but do you think he pulled off the studded vest?
Watch the whole music video below (he’s also wearing A Bathing Ape in other scenes) and tell me what you think!
