The club calls for sexy, but letting it all hang out is a risque move. Kelly Rowland did it recently while partying in Jet Nightclub in Las Vegas in a studded sheer black top that she mixed with leather leggings and lace up boots. On the red carpet she rocked the all-black outfit with a leather jacket:
But once she got inside the jacket came off to reveal her top with nothing on underneath but pasties:
This is a great outfit and she certainly has the body for it, but without a bra? Hmmm….
If you dare to try a sheer top, I’m a big fan of American Apparel’s mesh and lacy body suits especially versions like the one below ($38) that have strategically placed print detail over the chest area so that if you feel like skipping a bra and doing pasties it doesn’t look so exposed.
Over the weekend Lala Vazquez and Carmelo Anthony–who have been engaged since 2004– finally tied the knot in New York! The bride wore a Vera Wang gown and according to People magazine, the rest of her wedding-day details were equally fab. The couple had a red-themed celebration featuring red table cloths, centerpieces of red Ecuadorian roses, hundreds of candles and thousands of red roses hanging from the high ceiling, and a five-tiered white cake that was decorated with red flowers.
The July 10th wedding was filmed for an upcoming VH1 reality show, but in real-time over 300 guests–including Ciara, Kelly Rowland,Trina, Serena Williams, LeBron James, and the couple’s 3-year-old son Kiyan–came to see them exchange vows.
It looks like the couple enjoyed it all! What could be better than any accessory? A genuinely happy glow.
The Little Black Dress reigns supreme…but who did it better?
Don’t know what to wear for a big occasion? All black everything is always a safe–and chic–bet and that’s exactly how Zoe Saldana and Kelly Rowland arrived at last night’s 2010 Glamour Women of the Year Awards in London. Each lady put her own spin on midnight monochrome and the overall effects couldn’t be more different:
Zoe continued her fashionable winning streak and scooped up the Best Film Actress of the Year in a lacy Vionnet dress. She wore mile-high YSL platform pumps and diamond jewels with the sexy (you only get a peek!) and sophisticated look that screamed for bold red lips.
Kelly showed off her assets in a body-hugging Roberto Cavalli dress that had leather trim and an asymmetrical strap. This dress isn’t as intricate, but I could see it being a good go-to staple for the club or a date. The singer added a pop of color with bright orange nails and turquoise bracelets.
There’s no doubt that both of these women have killer legs, but who looked better in their black dress?
Kelly Rowland is double the fun in the Massashi Muto-directed music video for her dance track “Commander,” the first single from her third solo album. Surrounded by a partying crowd, the singer goes head-to-head with herself on a runway in a routine that choreographer Fatima Robinson has said was all about Kelly commanding the audience, stage, dancers and the world. Watch!
The two Kellys–one in black one in red–share identical superhero-esque outfits (wait, can you call the booty bearing ensemble an outfit?), which is the main look of the video. Both are strutting in the infamous pants-less look that Kelly’s girl Beyonce and others like Rihanna and Lady Gaga are so fond of these days. I swear these girls have more onesies than a two year old! The gold detailed leotards are set off with belts, knee-high latex boots and serious weave ponytails that would be problematic in a real battle but are perfect for swishing in this voguing routine. The video’s concept and clothing don’t feel entirely new or different but I loved it from the second ”red Kelly” pounds the stage all fierce and determined!
