Taking it back.

Solange seems determined to bring back Patra/”Poetic Justice” style boxed braids in 2011!  She was spotted, again, in her lastest hairdo while hitting the ones and twos at a Macy’s pop-up store launch party for their contemporary brand Bar III.

I can’t say that I’m inspired to pull out the Yaki and sit for hours to get singles like I did in the early ’90s, but I have to give it up to Solange for fearlessly rocking different hairstyles over the past year especially at a time where so many people have had so much to say about how Black women wear our hair (I still can’t get over Method Man’s anti-natural hair comments!). Whether she’s wearing her hair shaved, in a curly Afro, or yes, even in these waist length braids Solange wears her style with a beautiful confidence.

Her outfit choices are also bold and I’m actually really feeling the outfit she wore this night.  The orange shirt with blue pastel silk pants and cream shoes is a fun color combination that would be perfect for spring. With the color block purse this outfit has a retro feel, but leave it to Solo to add a funky twist with a leopard print head scarf.

She’s a dime piece in our book this week.

Sasha Fierce is back!

Beyonce declared “Sasha Fierce is done!” earlier this year, but Mrs. Honey Bee looks like she turned back to her feisty alter-ego for the Fall 2010 ad campaign for Dereon.

Move over Rihanna, the Queen is coming for your swag! Bey traded in her long locks for a short blonde ‘do and donned a bold shoulder little black dress with buckle-detail  booties plus a host of temporary tattoos as she  seductively posed on a motorcycle for her line’s latest ad.  

Solange recently admitted that she bowed out of involvement with House of Dereon because the clothes weren’t her style.  ” I initially was involved as the spokesperson, but the clothes just didn’t reflect my personal style and I decided to hand that over,” Bey’s younger sister said. Well if the dress and accessories in this new ad are any indication, it seems like the Dereon line is trying to step it up!

I do love how most of Bey’s outfits flaunt her bangin body, but we get it already. You have a figure. Can we please move on to a new silhouette? The girl has spent most of her career dressing about 20 years out of date and 10 years older than she is … I really wish she would embrace her youth and modern style.

They all think they’re so edgy.

Love the look! It’s really cool without being over the top and her figure looks missing, er, amazing.

Love her, too. Mostly because she’s on of those stars who is about my age and does really awesome stuff, seems happy, is filthy rich and never seen stumbling or slurring or doing anything human like embarrassing in public.

And she’s the hottest chick in the game wearing his chain, that’s right HOV.
