This movie was so good, but cause it remind me about my life with my mother we did get along and she wanted me to be like her, And I had to make her understand that was her life not my life.

I grew up abused by my father while my mother watched, not sexually but physically. So this movie touched home. My parents were phony just like Monique. I’m in my 40’s now but just five years ago I saw a friend I grew up with that told me I was the kid everybody wanted to be. I guess my parents put on a really good front because I didn’t even want to be me. This movie is fantastic and everyone needs to see it. There is a precious in every hood, but because of fear of ridicule noone ever speaks about it. We all just want to fit in and feel normal. The story has to be told so that society will stop ignoring the cries for help. I hope monique gets an award for her performance because she really made you hate her in this movie. She gets high praise from me for her performance.

I was wondering that if the movie was coming to North Dakota Theaters?

I would love to say bravo on a good movie. Everyone did a wonderful job. I laughed and cried while watching this. My group of friends and I had a wonderful time….OOPS!!!! Maybe that was because we had to spend our money and see something else since it was not released here.

We are so waiting for the movie to hit Hawaii theaters & soon. I heard it’s not going to be shown, in some states and WHY? From the clips I’ve seen, so much can be learned from this movie. If Hawaii doesn’t show the movie here, I plan on buying the DVD – I’ll buy it even if I see the movie.

I want to know why is this movie not in my city….It needs to make it here….i cant wait to see it…

The movie was really good, but im rather upset it isnt playing in baltimore theaters especially since monique is from baltimore.

I have not seen the movie but i applaud you because i can just remember what i went threw as a teen being heavy weight and still is but wear it well i would like to give you words of encouragement always remember we as black women are beautiful regardless of the size and what others make think about us. keep your head up
