J-Hud covers Essence

On the June 2009 issue of Essence, Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson makes her second appearance on the cover. The award-winning diva opens up for the first time about her family tragedy in an article titled “This Far By Faith.” According to Essence:
“When I’m onstage, everything kind of goes away…it’s like therapy…”

Jennifer Hudson was at the top of her game when the unimaginable happened last October. It was a tragedy of such epic proportions it seemed inconceivable that the Jennifer we knew—the young woman who came to embody a Hollywood fairy tale—could ever return. Here, she talks to ESSENCE’s Jeannine Amber about being back in the spotlight, the love of her life and what gives her peace.
Congrats to J-Hud for feeling comfortable enough to tell her story. I’m sure speaking her truth will inspire others. Also, J-Hud’s camp is still denying all pregnancy rumors.
During Jennifer’s Dark Times, she probably thought she would not live through it, But God Gives his grace to the humble, and the spirit helps us in our weaknesses……………. what an inspiration she is.

Hey Jennifer, I’m a HUGE and DEVOTED fan, I ‘m a little sadden and heart broken because your concert with Robin Thicke was cancelled in my hometown, Baltimore Maryland. I was really looking forward to see you and hear your awesome voice, but I understand. Wil you EVER come back to perform at B-MORE???????? Why was it just cancelled and not postponed??????? Jennifer there are somethings in life that just dont seem fair.However if we live everyday remembering that our timing is not Gods timing .Be encouraged and remember to put God first in whatever you do and you want go wrong.

Girl you need to be strong I went through the same last year my mother was poison I say my mother dying on my father’s hand and my grand- mother this year so I just pray for all of us who has to go through this type of pain. Jennifer take care yourself and pray everyday.

Hey Jennifer, I love your new CD. The song “If This Isn’t Love” is so pretty. I just lost my mother last year to cancer and I know they are sitting up in Heaven together. Don’t worry my mom is taking care of her and making her laugh. You have a talent and you will make it. Memories will hurt at times but God will see you through. Love you girl.
