Michael Jackson movie on Halloween?

According to Variety.com, MJ might have a movie released this Halloween.
Sony Pictures, which is finalizing a deal to acquire concert rehearsal footage from the singer’s “This Is It” tour from AEG Entertainment, is eyeing an Oct. 30 release date for the film.
The opening bid for the performance footage started at $50 million, and Sony is said to be ponying up close to $60 million for the 80 hours filmed.
Fox, Universal, Paramount and Relativity were also interested in putting in bids.
Sony made more sense, however, considering Sony Music Entertainment owns music publishing rights to Jackson’s songs.
Terms of the deal are still being worked out, but the Jackson family estate is expected to collect 90% of what’s left after AEG recoups its production costs for the tour.
Halloween is right on time to celebrate Thriller, which is always a staple on the radio during that day. However, as of now Sony has not commented on the deal.

Boy, Michael will not be able to rest in peace for the next 50 years! It has been one thing after the other and now everybody is out to make their money. Hopefully, with all the money that is being made, someone will be kind enough to assist the sity of LA with the bill for the memorial.
And, for the life of me, will Joe Jackson get somewhere and SAT DOWN!!! Leave those beautiful children alone, let Michael rest and justice prevail, and stop trying to forge a comeback for yourself!!!!!

I love Michael Jackson, BEST entertainer in the World. However, as far as seeing the movie, I would be skeptical as to who would profit from the money. If AEG or any other golddiggers are behind it, then no I would not see it.

I believe they are referring to the short film that Michael had done a few years ago. I have already seen it on ABC Family or something like that. It actually played on Halloween or a few days before a few years back. It was kind of cool. Reminded me of an updated version of Thriller.
