Angelina Jolie is an amazing actress but I sure have grown tired of her earthy, save-the-world roles. With the exception of Wanted, the past few years Jolie has been on that classy actress path — I miss the days when she was killing it in those bad girl roles.
Well now, Jolie is back this summer with a flick that looks like it’s going to be an endless thriller, Salt. Also, the movie includes one of my favorite actors, Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Synopsis: An explosive action tale of betrayal and revenge, The Losers centers around the members of an elite Special Forces unit sent to the Bolivian jungle on a search and destroy mission. But the team—Clay, Jensen, Roque, Pooch and Cougar—soon find that they have become the target of a deadly double cross, instigated from the inside by a powerful enemy known only as Max.
Making good use of the fact that they are now presumed dead, the group goes deeply undercover in a dangerous plot to clear their names and even the score with Max. They are joined by the mysterious Aisha, a beautiful operative with her own agenda, who is more than capable of scoring a few points of her own. Working together, when they’re not arguing amongst themselves, they have to stay one step ahead of the globetrotting Max—a ruthless man bent on embroiling the world in a new high-tech global war for his own benefit. If they can take down Max and save the world at the same time, it’ll be a win win for the team now known as The Losers.

The newest trailer for A Nightmare on Elm Street hit MySpace.com this week. Also, the image above is the official movie poster from the Freddy flick. It’s hard to remake horror flicks — but I think this one might get it right. Check out the trailer! A Nightmare on Elm Street Trailer 2 in HD

We all give horror flicks the side-eye, it’s hit or miss — usually miss. But, something about The Crazies look interesting. Here is the synopsis:
Imagine living in a small town where everything is safe and happy…until suddenly it isn’t. Imagine your friends and neighbors going quickly and horrifically insane. In a terrifying tale of the “American Dream” gone horribly wrong, four friends find themselves trapped in their hometown in The Crazies, a reinvention of the George Romero classic directed by Breck Eisner from a screenplay by Ray Wright (Pulse, Case 39) and Scott Kosar (The Amityville Horror, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre).
The Crazies opens this Friday, February 26th. Check out the trailer:

You probably saw The Back-Up Plan trailer during the Superbowl and it looks like Jennifer Lopezmight be on the comeback trail for the big screen. After flicks that were somewhat critically successfully but not commercially successful, like An Unfinished Life and El cantante (a movie I loved and thought she deserved an Oscar nod), J-Lo is back in what she does best — romantic comedies. Here is the synopsis:
The Back-up Plan is a comedy that explores dating, love, marriage and family “in reverse.”
After years of dating, Zoe (Jennifer Lopez) has decided waiting for the right one is taking too long. Determined to become a mother, she commits to a plan, makes an appointment and decides to go it alone. That same day, Zoe meets Stan (Alex O’Loughlin) – a man with real possibilities.
Trying to nurture a budding relationship and hide the early signs of pregnancy becomes a comedy of errors for Zoe and creates confusing signals for Stan. When Zoe nervously reveals the reason for her unpredictable behavior, Stan commits fully and says he’s in. Never before has love seen a courtship where a wild night of sex involves three in a bed – Stan, Zoe and the ever-present massive pregnancy pillow. Or, where “date night” consists of being the “focal point” at a near-stranger’s water birth which does for kiddie pools what “Jaws” did for swimming in the ocean. The real pregnancy test comes when both of them realize they really don’t know each other outside of hormonal chaos and birth preparations. With the nine month clock ticking, both begin to experience cold feet. Anyone can fall in love, get married and have a baby but doing it backwards in hyper-drive could be proof positive that they were made for each other.

While Wesley Snipeshad some straight to DVD releases in the past few years, his last major film was 2004’s Blade: Trinity. Now, Snipes returns in Brooklyn’s Finest, aa urban cop drama, which also stars Richard Gere, Ethan Hawke and Don Cheadle. Also, the film is directed by Antoine Fuqua, who was behind Training Day.
