Tyler Perry Vents About Mariah Carey

As we reported, Tyler Perry cast Mariah Carey in For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf. However, Mariah recently bailed from the project, which left Tyler Perry in a casting dilemma — five days before the film was set to start filming. On his web site, Perry said:
Anyway, I’m there on vacation, celebrating life, thanking God and just relaxing when I get a message that I have to come home, that Mariah has dropped out of the film! I said “What? You’re kidding? It’s five days before she has to go to work, nobody does that. We have a deal. IT’S FIVE DAYS BEFORE SHE IS SUPPOSED TO GO TO WORK! So, I got on the plane and came home and started trying to re-cast this major role in the film.
I land and get to the studio, and I’m like, what happened? I was told that we got a call, saying that even though our deal was done, she had been advised by her doctor not to do the film. I said “What? You know I want a doctor’s note, don’t you?!”…LOL
Perry went on to say that he is a huge Mariah fan and knows it had to be something serious for her to suddenly bail. This further fuels all the rumors that she is pregnant.
Thandie Newton replaced Mariah.
I personally think that Thandie Newton is a better choice.
Alicia Keys is pregnant and still working, what’s the problem?
Michael Michelle who acted in the autobiography of Muhammad Ali would be an excellent replacement.
Thats not professional to cast out a week before,there must be something very serious for mariah to cast out on the movie,im sure tyler perry is very understanding,he’s not tripping,but life goes on,maybe some other time and decade mariah can be in a tyler perry movie,but congrads on your pregnancy mariah can’t wait to see you big,i hope you n nick have a beautiful boy!congrads,really wished you could had been in the movie thoe,love ya mariah carey!
I think she wouldn’t have been good in the movie anyways, she can’t act. Maybe this is a sign to have someone else to the part instead of her, cast somebody better.
As a Native New Yorker like Mariah Carey I’m sure it was something of importance. Nevertheless, I sure Tyler Perry and Mariah Carey will working something out as to young individuals both born in the 1970s. Anyway, I wish them both good luck on their filming and in the future. Remember, knowledge is power.
I love Mariah carey but we all know she has had problems in the past! Maybe the movie would have been too overwhelming for her. I do believe there was a purpose. But Thandie was also a good choice, no matter the replacement Tyler would make the movie shine, he’s so talented.
It wouldv’e been great being that she is a pop/r&b superstat Diva but the film has other great cast members including Felicia Rashad, Janet Jackson, and Woppi Golberg so her absence will not really affect the film
