This throwback to a forgotten era awakens the kid in all of the 25+ gamers looking for games that make em remember what brought them to video games in the first place. Tight unforgiving controls check, pixels perfect check, grooving soundtrack triple check. Don’t miss out on this one for lack of “graphics”, give it a go because you want to enjoy video gaming goodness.

Silent Hill 5

Konami is entrusting one of its most cherished franchises Silent Hill to US developer The Collective (Buffy, Marc Ecko Getting Up, Indiana Jones). Which I thinks addresses the biggest complaint of the series. You’ve had major scares, but the characters could NEVER fight. The fighting ins past Silent Hills have been abysmal, but judging from the track record, these guys know how to brawl. I can’t wait to bring it to the nasties of Silent Hill. This game has a special place in the hearts of Survival Horror fans, the scares will be there. Play if you dare!

Sonic Chronicles

platform: Nintendo DS

release date: Tuesday Sept. 30

Aw snap, Sonic is Back! For the first time take control of the blue blaze in an RPG from the masters of such Bioware (Mass Effect, Jade Empire, KOTOR). This new way of playing isn’t for the faint of heart, but stick with it and after a few hours you’ll get the hang of it and feel like Sonic maybe should be like this all the time. The graphics are pushing the limits of what the DS can do. This gamer thou still wishes Sonic would make it all the way back to 2d goodness. This one will definitely keep you busy for a few hours.
