Gaming not recession proof?

January 21st, 2009

It’s been a long tradition that during times of economic hardship, the entertainment industry always booms. People need escapism, to be taken away from the perils of the real world. Technically the videogame industry is still riding high. So what gives?

Microsoft intends to lay off 8,000

Sony slashes 8,000 by 2010

EA laying of 1,000

Sega cutting it’s staff by 30
