#6 on TGH’z Top Black Video Game Characters list goes to Afro – Afro Samurai

Yo Afro! Yup. This cat is HIGH on our list. Why? Well, its an absolute shame that this dope ass character voiced by Samuel Jackson was not created by someone black. Originally created as Japanese Manga by Takashi Okazaki, Afro Samurai has come on in a big way with its super successful transition to Anime and distributed by SpikeTV in the US.

Basically it tells the story off Afro getting revenge for his pops murder by a cheating “Samurai” for the #1 Headband. Afro currently wears the #2 headband, and I won’t give it away to tell you if he gets #1. This game, headed up by Senior Producer David Robinson (who is black), definitely brings you a dope version of the anime. This game sports a unique cel-shaded style that will do any system justice.

Sam Jackson is back with the voice, and it’s one of the only games with a hip-hop influenced soundtrack. (The Rza didn’t do the tracks for the game but had an influence). If you haven’t checked this game out, then you are definitely missing the boa

I have to say things are looking up for this title as the controls feel on point and the look and feel of the series has been translated well. And the music doesn’t disappoint either!
