#9 on TGH’z Top Black Video Game Characters list is none other than Jade from Beyond Good and Evil

Keeping with the tradition of this list and calling out the sleeper hits comes Jade, from Ubisoft’s Beyond Good and Evil. This game dropped in 2003 to little fan fare. This may have been for a few reasons. Ubisoft played up the fact the main protagonist was a photographer and that her camera would be a key feature of the game. This may have inadvertently turned off some gamers who were really getting used to the big guns of FPS games at the time.

Jade’s ethnicity isn’t spelt out in the game, but the cases can be made that she’s at least mixed. This was definitely a sleeper hit and you have to check out the recently announced sequel coming to the next gen systems.

Tom Clancy’s first introduction into the flight-sim crowd H.A.W.X (High Altitude Warfare eXperimental squadron), is looking pretty decent. I got some hands on time with the title and came away pretty impressed with the way it all handled.

And I wasn’t the only one (check out full impressions here!). H.A.W.X look to offer something pretty rewarding to both hardcore and occasional fans of the genre. And even if you have never played a flight game before, this title does a good job of easing you into the game. Check out the video preview and see if H.A.W.X has enough maneuvers to outwit any doubt you may have towards the game!

The TrueGameHeadz crew had a chance to check out UBISOFT’s new Prince of Persia game at their 2008 NYC preview line-up event. I think it’s safe to say this game will be triple A wholesome goodness!

In the demo below you’ll see just how sick the prince is this time around, plus he’s brought a friend along. Here’s a little synopsis of his latest adventure:

The adventure begins with a new Prince of Persia, a wanderer, a vagabond, returning home from an adventure on a donkey laden with treasure, which he earned on his previous venture. He desires to spend his treasure on many luxuries, including women and liquor. But suddenly, he is caught in a fierce sandstorm. When the sandstorm subsides, he finds himself in a mythical garden of beauty, dominated at its center by a massive Tree of Life. The Prince and a girl, Elika, find each other, and, in the same predicament, decide to help each other. Together, they venture to the center of this grand oasis. When they arrive at the center, they witness the destruction of the tree, and the liberation of Ahriman, the ancient god of darkness. After being set free, Ahriman starts corrupting the lands with darkness and evil. The Prince, with the aid of Elika and her new found powers, take up arms against Ahriman’s corruption, in an attempt to drive it back and cleanse the world.

This game can’t come soon enuff!
