I think it is all about exposure. There are a lot of African Americans as well as other races of people who are not privy to politics. This show will reach some of them and can’t hurt to further his (Barack’s) chances at the presidency. However I do agree there are better media avenues, take nothing away from Miss Banks.

Whoever wrote this article is a HATER. Who are you to say that Tyra is a bad interviewer? I love the show and I watch it all the time. I think Obama going on Tyra is a good move for him. I’m on several of the commitees for his election, and we all are excited to see this. Tyra is a strong positive role model for black women, and what better thing to do than to pair her up with the most powerful black man in America for an interview? I know Tyra will ask him some questions that will show his personality. We know all the presidential stuff, let’s hear the lighter side of him. If he can go on Jay Leno, why not Tyra? Stop being a HATER!

Girlfriend (the one who wrote the blog) I feel you on that one … I honestly don’t think that it’s a good idea for Obama to appear on Tyra’s show. As you mentioned, Tyra Banks isn’t really a good interviewer -in my opinion- and it’s gonna be interesting to watch the interview. I’m kinda nervous for Obama just thinking about it.

The writer said that trya was a bad interviewer cause its their blog and their perogative to say so. And because she is a bad interviewer.

I think its good that Barack is making an attempt to reach younger women. I doubt this will be a problem credibility wise. I mean Clinton played the sad on Arsinio hall, and he wasnt exactly Ed Bradley.

Agreed, Tyra is not great at interviewing anyone who hasn’t just had cosmetic surgery or broken up with a boyfriend, or some other equally “girly” topic, but that’s the reason to choose her show for an interview. The people that watch her are not the same people that wake up on weekends to watch “Meet the Press”. It’s actually a smart marketing plan. Reach the people, who need to be reached by going to them and not expecting them to come to you.

Ok. So Tyra is no Ed Gordon, or Ed Bradley. Don’t knock her, if the writer of this article has any suggestions for Tyra’s Obama interview, why not send her some suggestions and tips…

OMG I love Tyra and have never missed a show but im worried that instead of helping in the presidential elections this could seriously hurt Obama because who knows whos watching and what will come out of Tyra or his mouth…. The thing that most worriesme is the show is gonna suffer if she does make a negative reflection in her questions as if ones on racial inequality and how hes going to preserver IM WORRIED politics isnt for everyone….

Whenever me and my friends have this conversation about Tyra I am the only person that says her show is Wack! Her interveiw style sucks. She makes people feel uncomfy answering the easyiest questions. I also hate the way she poses questions. ( Tell me about this, and talk about that, lets touch on that) She is also very rude. Her guests dont get to finish their sentences before she is coming up with more ill formed questions. Tyra I am hoping you get it together I am proud of your success but the interveiw techniques are bad. I loved that show about how black women sometime hate on each other! i totally agree. her interviewing style is awful. she cuts people off. and she’s so phony. she says size doesnt matter but she has never kept a plus size woman on her reality show. she’s fake!!! hopefully having him on the show, will cause her to prepare better. and not just think of questions off the top of her head!!

Don’t understand why Tyra would ask him on the show if she is setting him up for the kill. One wrong move Obama and its over sooner than you would have expected. The enemy is just waiting for the slip up. I’m hoping he makes it and I don’t think going on Tyra is a good idea. He should do Oprah maybe. I don’t think Oprah would give a question that may get him negative feedback. Not to say Tyra would either but she might not mean too either.

I say that Tyra is a very smart woman and she would be able to do an interview with Obama. Tyra would be able to find out the truth behind this guy and show just because he is a black man and will be the first black man to run presidency doesn’t mean anything. She would find out if he is honest or just another fake to get a title. I believe it is best. I say what is the difference between going on Oprah or Tyra, either way he is being interviewed and if Oprah was to make it easier for him to just slip threw then that won’t be very honest, would it? Even if she cuts anyone off, it isn’t like she means anything, she is just flowing, so leave that be and leave her alone.

This is my first time visiting this portion of BET’s website and I must admit that I love it. I love your point of view. I’m also a big fan of Tyra Bank’s. I think she’ll do well with Obama. i agree tyra is a good show host and if she wants to interview obama,let her do her thing, for those that don’t like her, don’t watch her, there are million’s that do support her cause her show has been on for a long time now, so all the hating remark’s are simply just from hater’s

I agree partially with the writer of this article. Tyra Banks is not the best interviewer, as well as I’m not a fan of her show. It just doesn’t appeal to me…she’s sometimes annoying.

Although I love her on America’s Next Top Model. Obama will do fine on the show, Tyra did show up to Oprah’s Political Fundraiser Gala: Support Barack Obama, so although I’m not a fan of her hosting and interviewing abilities, I’m still curious on what attributes of the lighter side of Obama’s personality will she expose.

I watched the interview. It was great. Obama is fine, funny AND smart. I thought it was hilarious how Tyra was trying to get a sleepover in the White HOuse.

i just hope that she treats him better thand she does most african americans who are contraversial figures. she only likes black people that the ‘click’ likes. tyra lost me when she treated the vixen like the vixen had broke up tyra’s marriage and all of tyra’s girlfriends marriages. yet she was a whimp about the way that naomi-the-beat-u-down girl treated her at one time and point in there history. tyra is cute, but she is not a journalist. let us bow our heads and pray.
