Akon: Yes, I’ve Been Convicted

In an interview with Essence.com, melodic rap-singer Akon sheds light on his much talked about criminal past.
“No, I am a real convicted felon. I’ve been locked up once and I’ve been released. I’m more mature and intelligent to find ways to stay out of trouble. Believe it or not, that’s the challenge now, I want to see how he gets out of this one. A lot of times [the press] misconstrues and misinterprets. Being in jail was my experience and what I wanted to do with my music is say that this wasn’t a situation I ever wanted to experience again.”

I did notice a string of reporting blowing small incidences at his show up in to violent efforts on his part… after seeing the youtube footage of most of the incidences i would agree, they giving him a bad rap.

I’m proud of you Akon, we all make mistakes. But the thing is to learn from your mistakes and try not to let it happen again. It looks like you’re doing that and some of the other artist out there need to look at your situation and learn. Keep making great music!!

well as people grow people learn, so that was just a learnin exp for AKON , the guy is gr8 JAMAICA’S favourate artiste
I remember singing his song when I had caught the chain (those who been there know what I mean) me an a few other people was really feelin that song at the time he really heped us through that time. Thank you for makin real music for real people.
