Kanye West Sells Out?

Nope. It’s not what you think. But, remember those new air Yeezy’s you thought would bomb?
Turns out, not so much.
The limited edition sneakers caused long lines at stores across the country and now Kanye West says he wants to do more for Nike.
He told Complex Magazine: “I’m going to keep coming up with ideas, but I do want to state in black and white that somebody needs to give me a (expletive) chance. Don’t just one-off me! If Nike gave me the opportunity to be in there creating … I’m not saying that I think I’m the best designer in the world, but what I’m saying is that I think I can become that.”
Earlier this week the producer and rapper released a video thanking fans for support with the sneakers. Aboard a boat where he was filming his new video Kanye shouted:
“I want to thank everyone that went out and supported and cop the Yeezys. A lot of people had to pay overprice. Next time, I’m going to do the Yeezy II’s.”
And uncharacteristically, Ye also concedes to a recent caricature of himself on South Park.
“South Park murdered me last night and it’s pretty funny,” West writes on his blog. “It hurts my feelings but what can you expect from South Park! I actually have been working on my ego though.”
West says he created his “crazy” ego to build up his self-esteem, but it’s now “played out at this point in my life and career.”
He also writes: “I just wanna be a doper person which starts with me not always telling people how dope I think I am.”
Actually … that’s pretty dope.
