Diddy Is My Daddy

Even though Quincy Brown (Kim Porter’s son with Al. B. Sure!) isn’t quite Diddy’s stepson, he considers Diddy to be his daddy.
Quincy used his Global Grind blog the other day to go hard on Al B. and to thank Diddy for being a father figure.
“I grew up without my father, an irreplaceable force and influence that was absent in my life. I watched other kids enjoy the embrace of theirs, and I searched for a way to reconcile the meaning of my circumstance. Despite my pain, I’ve imagined a life as a good son with my father … But, the accolades have been absent the sound of his clapping hands and encouraging words … his voice that I could distinguish in my sleep. Where has he been?”
Yo, that’s deep. He also included a song as part of the letter.
“Now, I reflect on the journey, the pain, the challenges, and the triumphs through this song. I’m reconciled as a man, no longer a boy, in verse. Now, I know that I’m not alone. Albert Brown, also known as “Al B Sure!” is my biological father, but Sean Combs, also known as “Diddy” has been a father figure in my life for as long as I can remember. Sean Combs is the person whom I look up to and appreciate as a father. He is the one who help mold me into the person I am today and will always try to live up to his expectations. He has always been supportive of me and I will forever love and respect him. As far as my biological father goes, the “spitting image” is all I have taken from him.”
Talk about Nite and Day. Al. B.: your turn. What’s up with that, homie?

It sounds as though this young man is very wise beyond his years. I hope that his “bio” takes notice to what his offsrping is saying to him. It sounds as though it is too late for Al but it is not. I am a 35 year old mother of two and grandmother of three. I just decided this year to try to have a respectful relationship with my father even though he was never around.
awww yeah wherever respect is given shall be do and im glad you give a shout out to diddy because im so tired of hearing people talk about diddy he i think he is a great man to his kids and fans and etc

This boy is stupid….never disrespect your blood parent. Money is not everything and I blame you punk ass Mom for being so didrespectful to Al B Sure. Puff appears to be a good dude. He spends big money on you…but money is not everything. My ex son in law has lot s of kids but he si so supportive. He don’t have a lot a money and we don’t put that kind of pressure on him just be supportive and my grand daughter does great in school. Blood is thicker than the mud. Watch Frankie on Keisha Cole..let it be known that shes the blood Mother and I admire her for that, I guess boys are different. Shaq was like this with his dad. I blame the Mom. That says a lot about the woman.
i understand that the reason this kids father isnt in his life is probably because of his mother but as a man his bio father should step up because under all the big words that were to show how strong this kid is trying to be he is hurt but i thank God that diddy is being the next bigg thing as a father
i kind of agree with what elaine said. I remember seeing them in an episode of Sweet 16 on MTV. To me it seems the only reason Puff is seen as a “good” father is because he has money. Let this man go piss broke tomorrow and see what he does for his kids. My thing is a good father will have many kids with the same woman, not different women unless he and the main woman didn’t work out.
Why does everybody want to blame the mother who knows what went on in the relationship between her and Al B. I seen Al on the MTV show about celeb’s kids wanting to be a rock star. He look like he is a good dad now but only God knows why he doesn’t has a relationship with Quincy. Quincy has a good role model now and that is his blessing and I’m glad Diddy shows how love is unconditional.
Money is certainly not all but in this case I believe that if AIB had stepped up to his father role Quincy would not feel the hurt it seems like he is feeling. AIB might be intimidated by Diddy’s wealth but thats his son and Diddy or no one can take that away from him so he needs to make things right as they are like twins with less weight on Quincy’s side.
This is to Elaine please shutup that boy stated that his father wasn’t there for him and that is how he feels. He wasnt talking about financial support either it was emotional support Al B need to man up and try to be a father instead of lettin Diddy be that boys role model. I have children and they see for there selves that there dad is not responsible it’s not up to the mothers to downplay why these men are not there we’re tryin to hold jobs and keep these boys from being outstanding men in this soceity. These men need to step up their game and be better fathers to their children. Diddy needs to be a better father to his daughter Chance
you have to appreciate what Diddy has done for this young man. It’s not easy to take care of another man responsiability obviously he had enough respect for the woman he was with to accept this child and to continue to be the father figure throughout the years regardless of the ups and downs he and kim had. the fact that he as money is a plus. so people stop hating!
Mama’s baby…….Papa’s maybe?….you may be the biological father , but if you don’t play your postion and another man does….he becomes the father figure, rich or poor.
I applaud Diddy for stepping in and being a father to Quincy. It’s sad when a dude (not a man) does not take care of his responsibilities in life, Quincy’s biological father should be ashamed of himself! I
In addition, a woman does not need to speak ill of the absent father…the child will realize or find out on their own that the father ain’t s***. I don’t believe that Kim spoke ill of Quincy’s biological father…actions speak louder than words…real talk!
Ok, so Diddy has stepped up to the plate over the years, I commend him. But we don’t know the circumstances behind Al B. Sure being absent. Maybe Kim didn’t want anything to do with him after his success went down hill, maybe she told him to stay away. Don’t get me wrong, i’m not justifing any man not doing for his children, because my father never did for me, but at the end of the day, I still love him. The question is; has Diddy been around for the right reasons, or just to be able to say he’s taken care of someone else’s child? Could it be Diddy just wants more attention? Maybe we’ll never know. One thing’s for sure, Diddy hasn’t ALWAYS been around, let’s not forget ALL of his FLINGS throughout the years!
