Did Chris Brown Get Off Easy?

Chrihannagate got a finale yesterday and oh what an ending to the saga! Chris Brown looked like he was sweating bullets in the courtroom (though Rihanna looked calm, collected and “court fab” in her black shift dress, vintage diamond jewelry and pearls) as everyone anticipated the ending to this roller coaster.
If you happened to be under a rock, the drama ended with Chris avoiding jail time by accepting a plea bargain. The deal: 180 days’ hard labor which can be served in his home state of Virginia (VA, you just might catch Chris in a orange jumpsuit picking up trash on the freeway as you roll by) and five years probation. Ri-Ri never had to take the stand and reportedly approved the plea (Glad it was short and to the point, but I guess we’ll still never know what really happened?).
In addition, Chris must enroll in domestic abuse courses and was issued a “stay away” order by Judge Patricia Schnegg that requires the singer to keep his distance from his ex-girlfriend during his probation. For the next five years Chris can not contact Ri-Ri at all and if she tries to contact him that would also be considered a violation on his part and would be punishable by law. During this time Chris must also stay at least 50 yards away from Rihanna, except if they happen to show up at an event together, in which case he must stay 10 yards away. So no more secret reunions at Diddy’s house in Miami or courtside appearances over the next few years and when the Grammys come back around next year I guess Chris will be sitting in the balcony?
Rihanna’s lawyer Donald Etra told reporters outside the courthouse that she didn’t think the “stay away” order was necessary (I wonder if she’s having second thoughts on how this all went down?). The judge said she’d reconsider the order when Chris is formally sentenced on August 5th.
Looks like there’s little chance that these two will ever get back together unless they want to talk to each other during visiting hours through plate glass.
There’s much speculation as to whether or not Chris’s punishment fit the crime. Was his sentence too harsh or do you think he the star treatment and got off easy? What effect do you think this whole saga have on his career? Let the debate begin!
I am very glady that Chria does not have to do any jail time../women -men no one should every put hteir hands on younperiod!While Ophra and tyra were busy giving advice about if he hit you once he do it again. That not always true. Trust me I know.I hope that society will not punish him more by not playing his music,Threr people out there that like hime and wish the best.
I PERSONALLY THINK THAT THE PROBATION ALONG WITH THE COMMUNITY SERVICE IS WRONG FOR HIM BECAUSE I BELEIVE SHE PROVOKED THE WHOLE SITUTATION SO SHE SHOULD ALSO BE HELD ACCOUTABLE AND THAT ORDER THEY HAVE FOR HIM TO STAY AWAY FROM HER SHOULD BE THE OTHER WAY AROUND CAUSE IT SEEMS LIKE SHE KEEP RUNNING BACK TO HIM WHICH OBVIOUSLY MEANS SHES GUILTY BOUT SOMETHIN
Are you bit##es stupid or something. Y’all sound like a bunch of dumb motherf*****s. I would love to see a MAN hit your A** and you think its okay. If she started it or not it does not matter as a MAN you are suppose to walk away. Since when is it okay for a MAN to beat a WOMAN like he’s crazy and F*****g bite her. I hope ALL who is saying its her fault take their dumb A** back to school or something get some brains cause you sound real stupid right now.
The no contact order needs to stay so they won’t find themselves in this situation again…especially Chris. Clearly they bring out the evil sides of each other so the judge knows what she’s talking about. His sentence was not harsh. It help him to remember not to take it that far again. Chris next time you want to get away from a female handle it better babe. This situation will humble him and help him choose his girlfriends more carefully. Chris remember you’re branded now. The no contact order keeps you from Rhianna, however you have to watch out for other scandelous females that are looking to get their 15 minutes of fame and get paid. BE SMART BABY! You’re in my prayers.
As for Rhianna, I hope she deals with her anger issues too. It’s not healthy to be fighting people sweetie. Concentrate on your career and just have male friends….worry about the serious relationships later. Men don’t mature until they are in their late 20’s-30’s and sometimes not even then. God bless you ! I was wrong for saying she deserved what she got…I was nursing some old wounds.

My prayers are with the both of them. Yes the verdict was too harsh. That’s why Rhihana doesn’t want the stay away included. She loves him and he loves her. Things just got out of hand. I love u both.
I feel that we didn’t get to hear Chris side this hole time. All I have ever heard is what she claiming. That’s not coo. There are two sides to every story and it’s said we didn’t get to hear Chris.
i think they did him wrong just because he a celebrity…and from my understanding she started the whole thing….so are they going to punish her??
Is is disturbing to see how many young males and females think it is okay to asualt a female, or anyone for that matter. It seems like it is acceptable until it happens to you, or your one of your loved ones. You must understand that love is not suppose to hurt, (physically, mentally or emotionally), and even if someone is provoking you; you have the common sense and the ability to verbally respond (in the same manner as that person), or walk away, but the minute you put your hands on someone, that is assualt!!!! I don’t care if the person has money or not. Love and respect yourselves first, and if you can’t do that, you will find very few decent people who will do if for you.
P.S. He got what he deserved, and I am glad she had the good sense to move on. He has been cheating on her for some time, he has anger issues, which might be as a result of growning up and witnessing domestic violence in his home, and he looks like a young punk!!
u know is mostly girls that say “theres more to the story” if there is or isn’t a story the guy was stronger unless he got a bigger girl but the man is always stronger and bite her yall tripping jus cuz his ass is famous and u girls like him i did to but i don’t agree in what he did. i think rhinna was a total b**** 4 wat she did. i mean she had her own part in wat happened 2. it wasnt all chris b’s fault.i admit he shouldnt have hit her cause he’ s a man. but it was all out of defense. i think that what the judge has ordered for chris to do iss a little harsh cause it seems like ri-ri wants to be with him still if she is going to speak up on the next court date about the distance and not being able to see eachother…
its like he deserves to be put on punishment but then again he doesnt cause there is something missing in the story……
I don’t get rihanna. Why would she try to look (pretty) in court. A shimmery black dress,diamond earrings and a pearl neckless to court? Does she have any common sense at all?
I think that these two are young and trying to handle a very adult, very public relationship is hard. I also think that there is more to the story than what is being told. I do not believe for a second that Rhianna is an innocent victim. I believe they both were at fault. And if those pictures had not surfaced of her than people would not be upset with Chris. We did not see any pictures of Chris. I am not saying what he did was right, but we don’t know the whole story. A man should NEVER hit a woman. If she is too aggressive there is a way for him to simply restrain her till she calms down. I think they both are very talented and will still continue to shine. Chris Brown should be given a second chance by the public. I mean there has been way worse scandals in the entertainment industry. I think people are forgetting that they are kids.
I feel like the whole ordial is a miss fortune for both Chris Brown and Rhianna. They are young and dealing with a lot of new issuse in Life with the Finances, fans and just whose on top more than the other. Chris needs to seek counceling as well as Rhianna. This is some times a cycle that needs to be broken. If they want to stay together then let them. But the families should at least make sure that they both get help. Not so much as family help but more out side help to get a clearer picture so that the both of them can live healthy and productive lives. I miss the beautiful music that they both make and we need them back In the Music community. WE MISS YOU BOTH. Make sure you come back strong. You both.
ok stop all this BS i think everybody is being very unfair other famous people did alot worse and nobody gave but a care and u acting like chrisbrown killed someone. i know its wrong to hit a girl but its over if she had a std then she should of said something and none of this would neaver happend!!!!!!!!!!!
