Remember the Time: Leave your condolences for MJ

Say what you will about Michael Jackson, but if not for him the likes of Usher, Chris Brown, Ne-Yo, Beyonce, and every other Black megastar that came after him wouldn’t be here.
He is a trendsetter in every sense of the world. From his dancing to his videos to his hair (I’m not kidding – his lacefront game was so proper) Michael changed the game and no matter how hard others try to copy him there will never be another like him.
As sad as I am about his death I can’t help but smile about all of the wonderful memories he’s given me.
I remember my mom telling me that I used to cry whenever the “Thriller” video came on because I was so young and afraid. Well they laughed at me, so that’s more so a happy memory for them.
I remember jumping and up down and screaming, “I’m BAD” in my living room.
I remember watching Moonwalker over and over again. People shouldn’t sleep on that movie. Mike was the original Transformer.
I remember screaming “Dirty Diana” over and over again to my mom and her threatening to beat the hell out of me because Diana is her first name.
I remember gathering around the TV to watch Michael premiere the video for “Remember The Time.”
I remember cursing out my friend for staining my favorite Michael Jackson t-shirt. If you’re wondering, no I wasn’t a kid. I was like 22.
You still may catch me screaming “shamon” for no good reason.
As I sit here, I am listening to “In The Closet,” fighting the urge to get up and strut around like Nay-Nay (that’s Naomi Campbell to you) in the video.
I think Mike would want it that way.
As unfortunate as his death is, Michael did more by 30 than people who lived to be 100. We have to celebrate his genius.

Micheal Jackson has had a huge impact on me,and i am only 11 years old. watching my first video from Micheal Jackson was Smooth Criminal was already inspired at the age 6
I want to express how sadden for the news about Micheal. I have 4 childrens love all my children and to here the media talk about Micheal with such and foul tongue it really breaks my heart this man was human and he’s entitled to make mistakes and the only judge we will to worry about is the Man up stairs. I want to say to his mother that I pray God be with you and help you through all of this and give you all the strength you need. Micheal was known all the King of Pop and know one can take that away. He will always be a legend everyone know Micheal. God Bless You!!
R.I.P. Michael we will always admire your strength and talent that you brought to the world. You are amazing and always will be that way to me in my eyesight. I can’t believe that you are gone but not forgotten. You music, talent, love and giving spirit will live on through all of your fans across the world. My heart goes out to the Jackson Family and Michael’s children and the mother’s of the children. The Jackson five and Michael have been apart of my life sense I was a little girl and I have followed them ever since then. We love you Michael and I still love the rest of the Jackson’s as well. May God strengthen you all right now and know that Michael is in a better place now and forever more. Blessings & Love Always……
I still feel like this is not real. I loved Michael Jackson from when I was still in the womb. My mom would dance to thriller and put headphones on her stomach. I remember when any video was released, I would HAVE to stay home to watch it. He is an icon and a legend and I know that music will never be the same. It angers me that the media brings out the negative aspects of his life knowing that he has passed. Out of respect for his family they should be more cautious of this. I love all of his music!! RIP Michael Jackson.

Michael Jackson was a role model for people in the 19th century, and soon captured the attention of kids in the 21st century. Rest in peace Michael Jackson you will always be in our hearts!…R.I.P MICHAEL 1958-2009!
Man its so sad to know that Mike is gone, its like i still can’t believe it. I grow up watching him and his family in the spot light. I can still remember standing in front of the t.v. trying to do his every move. I love everything about Michael Jackson and I will continue to LOVE him and keep his music alive in my heart and blasting in my car.

Well Michael Jackson will always be missed and remembered as king of pop and a legacy to music but never will be forgotten cause he will live threw his music as life goes on.As a lil girl i can rememeber when me and my brother and my niece we use to sit in front of the tv and when his video came on we would try and do his moves and even try and sing his songs.Micheal Jackson was an inspiration to everyone in this world through the hard times he had when he was living.Well Mj gave to the people who needed and thats all that mighters and for the media they need not do what they are doing by talking about the negative stuff that happened to mj cause its not the time or place to be doing that now .MJ IS RESTING IN PEACE SO THEY SHOULD LET HIM REST ON SINCE HE COULD N’T REST WHEN HE WAS LIVING. Well my love goes out to mj family specially Janet and Jermaine.
I pray that his family obtains the strength to bear their grief. Micheal Jackson will be remembered worldwide as a sensitive, multi-talented person with a large heart who gave freely to help others less fortunate.
His children should be allowed to grow up without the media attention that surrounded their father. They also should be able to stay with their grandmother as their father wished.

Michael will truly be missed. I remember listening to the King of Pop my whole childhood, he has been an inspiration for me wanting to sing my whole life. He is and will always be the King of Pop… R.I.P.
I sincerely believe that God loaned Michael to us to share his (i.e. MJ’s) gifts but we did not all appreciate him and some made his life a misery. So God took him back! Michael, I know that you are with your maker and surrounded by other angels. I grew up on your music in the US and UK and have never imagined a world without you in it. Last weekend, I went out and bought as many of your CDs/DVDs as I could find despite the fact that I already owned most of your albums. I just hope that all those MJ haters/detractors out there can now let him rest in peace and remember him for his incredible contributions to pop culture and his other achievements; and not for the malicious allegations made against him by some greedy and malevolent few. R.I.P.!
When I heard that Michael Jackson had passed, I was more than shocked. I could not sleep for days. I could not watch anything about him without crying. I want to say to his family, friends and fans that my prayers are with you and may you find comfort soon. Michael will be missed, but always remembered and love.
