Remember the Time: Leave your condolences for MJ

Say what you will about Michael Jackson, but if not for him the likes of Usher, Chris Brown, Ne-Yo, Beyonce, and every other Black megastar that came after him wouldn’t be here.
He is a trendsetter in every sense of the world. From his dancing to his videos to his hair (I’m not kidding – his lacefront game was so proper) Michael changed the game and no matter how hard others try to copy him there will never be another like him.
As sad as I am about his death I can’t help but smile about all of the wonderful memories he’s given me.
I remember my mom telling me that I used to cry whenever the “Thriller” video came on because I was so young and afraid. Well they laughed at me, so that’s more so a happy memory for them.
I remember jumping and up down and screaming, “I’m BAD” in my living room.
I remember watching Moonwalker over and over again. People shouldn’t sleep on that movie. Mike was the original Transformer.
I remember screaming “Dirty Diana” over and over again to my mom and her threatening to beat the hell out of me because Diana is her first name.
I remember gathering around the TV to watch Michael premiere the video for “Remember The Time.”
I remember cursing out my friend for staining my favorite Michael Jackson t-shirt. If you’re wondering, no I wasn’t a kid. I was like 22.
You still may catch me screaming “shamon” for no good reason.
As I sit here, I am listening to “In The Closet,” fighting the urge to get up and strut around like Nay-Nay (that’s Naomi Campbell to you) in the video.
I think Mike would want it that way.
As unfortunate as his death is, Michael did more by 30 than people who lived to be 100. We have to celebrate his genius.

You will be missed for you are the king of pop the one and only. I still can’t believe you are gone but your legacy will live on, I hope someday the younger generations of children are able to hear you. May you rest in peace.

I pray for peace in understanding regarding the departure of Michael Jackson. for peace to surround his family and fans.Also for healing to begin at some point in each one life. I thank God for the gift he sent, may we honor people while they live. That the press not be able to destroy his memory. That each life he touch, bear seed forever of his greatest. I will always remember the King of Pop! We love Michael. You were a messenger, and on time, the many people received and loved you. when i heard of the late greats death, i felt like my world came to an end. i feel like his blood runs through my vains because he’s been in my life since i was born. He Is My Brother! he is my friend. michael, you will never be forgotten and your spirit will always live through me. i can finally let go because i have realized that you arent gone, u just went home. My condolence goes out to the Jackson’s family doing this time of breavement. Expecially Mrs. Jackson ( Joe) no one know what pain you are going thru at this time, but God knows and HE cares. Look unto the Hill from which your help come it come from the Lord who made the heaven and earth. Your son, bother father,cousin what ever he was. Your have three wonderful grandchildren that he left in your care. Aright Big Mama, Joe,brother and sister and family let’s pull together and keep these chidren in their famlly where M.J. wanted them to be. God allowed him to touch the world thru his music, singing,and dancing.As my mind wonder back to the first time I heard Michael sang. I often said what a gifted you man. You knew he was going to do some big and great thing. The Homegoing Celebration was just outstanding. May God continue to bless you and your family and keep you safely in His arm. To the Jackson Family no words can express what your feeling but no that the almighty does not make mistakes, trust that Micheal’s job was done here on earth he completed what he was placed here to do so please celebrate the impact that he had on millions, remember often imitated but NEVER duplicated. Micheal is the epitome of an African American Man and through all and I mean all controversies from 1958 until present Micheal came through and broke many barriers in the process, although we will definitely miss his physical presence no that the impact he made will live on. The transition from mortal to immortal is always heavy and a transition that we all must face but know that when the Lord says “Well Done My Good And Faithful Servant ‘” Yours was a job well done just as Micheal’s job was well done, carry on the love that Micheal so dearly sung about. I believe I can speak for some when I say We Love You Micheal, “I want you back”, it all seemed easy as “ABC”,and no matter what may come “I’ll be there”. I know sometimes it seems as though “You can’t win”, and your living life “Off the wall”,there are times when things seem like a “Bad” dream , even a “Thriller”, but know that “WE ARE THE WORLD”, we are the children, so lets make this a brighter day, and lets start caring, sharing and loving each other. PLEASE know that as a people we are powerful beyond measure, we are talented, we are “DANGEROUS”, and because of MICHEAL J.JACKSON’S triumphs,his legacy , his overall PERSONA, his life was/is a message “that could not have been any clearer”, I hope we all “take a look at ourselves and make a change”. I realize that Micheal is and always will be a part of the Jackson Family and I thank you greatly for sharing him with us, also know that Micheal is apart of my family, God’s Family and I could not love him any more if my mother had birth him. Micheal is not gone he is still living in our heart,he is to me more than a king more to me than anything,i always wished i could meet him some day but i guess i will meet him when time to come.He is my IDOL,ICON and in every way you can put it in he is the best celebrity ever and i wish to be like him some day.MICHEAL I LOVE SO MUCH WORDS CAN NOT TELL [and i refuse to believe that your gone].I LOVE you.
MJ was and is a legend that will be greatly missed by all. The happiness and the memories that he brought to us as individuals and as a people is something that no one will ever again be able to match. He was an inspiration and humanitarian that beseeched us all to be better in the paths we walked. My prayers to his family.. We have all lost a brother but none will feel it more than those who spent there every moments with him.. May his children find comfort in the memories he has left with them and the fact that there father was loved by all…

I am so sad that this person that I admired so much is gone so soon before his time. I wish that I had been lucky enough to had met him in person or see him perform, but I am happy that my family exposed me to his music and legacy as a young child and he will forever be remembered by me and my children because I will make sure that they know what type of entertainer and humanitarian he was. I am inspired to be the best I can be in all of my career and life’s pursuits. He truly cared about and loved people and I want to be the same way. i want to let people know that it is possible to love others and that it is what should be done by all. YOu have brought more joy and happiness to my life that you could ever imagine. Thanks for everything. I love you Michael Jackson and I miss you. Please, Rest In Peace.

Is it possible that once … just once … a celebrity could dress appropriately for a funeral/memorial service? The attire worn to the Jackson Memorial by a certain female performer was indecent. Why? Why is it so hard to be decent and pay respects all in the same day?
