Pay Your Respects

I find this hard to believe but word has surfaced that those who seek to pay their respects to the late great, King of Pop will have to shell out $25 for entry.
Indeed, Michael Jackson’s public memorial will take place on Tuesday, July 7th (allegedly at the Staples Center in Los Angeles), but fans will have to pay $25 to sit in the stands.
Why the entry fee (if this is true!)? Before you blame Papa Joe, there may be a number of factors involved.
The most noted one is the state of California being broke. The City of Los Angeles is facing a $530 million dollar deficit and to properly secure a spectacle of this nature is not cheap.
On the other hand, the memorial service will include guest speakers, music and video screens inside and outside of the Staples Center, and celebrity guests like Elizabeth Taylor and Diana Ross.
They’ll even be selling the t-shirts from Jackson’s would be comeback tour, “This Is It.” It’s a recession, ya’ll: We can’t waste cotton like that.
To be fair to Mike, he is the best to have ever done it. He can’t go out with a boring memorial. If I remember James Brown’s funeral correctly, it was one of the best concerts I had seen in years. Mike has to raise the bar!
I feel that 25 dollars is a small contribution compared to all the hard work and music that michael has given us for years! Everyone must remember that this is the best and most talented musician that has ever lived, and his legacy will continue to grow and be remembered. He has also changed many peoples lives in so many ways and has given back to the community in so many ways. The media and tabloids will hopefully let him rest in peace, and make known what he has done for the world, and not what accusations that people have made against him, michael you are truley the best thing that has ever happened to the entertainment, may your legacy and music live on in our hearts and souls. i think when all is said and done we will find out his physician was to blame for his early demise……if i were him i would get far far away from the u.s. i dont think theres anything wrong with them charging fans the economy needs all the boost it can get and they dont even have to have anything like this for people to pay their respects….the state of cali or any other state couldnt afford to foot the bill for something of this magnitude…also you dont use any arena or center for free

One thing i wan’t to say it’s very sad. Just wish i could bring him back, but for as paying 25 dollars it’s even about the money i would pay as if i was going to the concert plus more if he could come back. really don’t know what to say but he will be miss very much.
I am in shock. I keep wishing for a miracle, that he would shock us all and get up. Is this a pre-show shock, like in a modern day miracle he’ll soon rise from the dead….. This can not be. I find it hard to believe.
He is an extreemly gifted and talented man, and no matter what they say they can never take this away from him. My condolences go out to all his children, family, friends and fans.
All you christains out there please pray for his family at this time. The pain must be absolutely unbearable.

It’s very sad to see that Michael Jackson is gone. When I heard the news I didnt believe it at first. I heard the news when I was on vacation with my family and I didnt want to believe it at first, but when my aunt called she said that it’s true and that it was on the news. Well I grew up on Michael and I remember the Thriller album. That album was one of the best albums of all time. I was just a baby when it came out and I been a fan since then. I pray for his family and friends that knew Michael that god is with all of you. Well RIP Michael Jackson “The King Of Pop” Forever.
i would pay $100 if that was the price. Mj has done so much for us in his lifetime, and he had to endure so much pain because many people chose to believe lies, i think people shouldnt have a problem with paying $25 for the greatest entertainer who ever lived

$25 is nothing compared to the joys he brought us through his music and what he has done for the world and the less fortunate- all the money in the world combined could never add up to his value and what he means to the people who loved him. I would pay $1000.00 to attend his final farewell-an unforgettable chance of a lifetime for an unforgettable person. He’ll live forever in our hearts.

Michael Jackson was the most loving and compassionate person that I wish I would have met. His music is one of a kind. It tells stories and the words comes from his heart and his mind. No other entertainer will be able to touch him in music…(sorry guys). But he has touched so many people’s hearts and he will always be remembered. I love Michael with all my heart. I will miss him and his music but I will still play his music because of the heart he put into it. He would put his emotions into his music and that is what makes a musician. Rest in peace Michael. U are in a place now where no man can hurt you, sickness cant touch you, and trials and tribulations are no more!
