Pay Your Respects

I find this hard to believe but word has surfaced that those who seek to pay their respects to the late great, King of Pop will have to shell out $25 for entry.
Indeed, Michael Jackson’s public memorial will take place on Tuesday, July 7th (allegedly at the Staples Center in Los Angeles), but fans will have to pay $25 to sit in the stands.
Why the entry fee (if this is true!)? Before you blame Papa Joe, there may be a number of factors involved.
The most noted one is the state of California being broke. The City of Los Angeles is facing a $530 million dollar deficit and to properly secure a spectacle of this nature is not cheap.
On the other hand, the memorial service will include guest speakers, music and video screens inside and outside of the Staples Center, and celebrity guests like Elizabeth Taylor and Diana Ross.
They’ll even be selling the t-shirts from Jackson’s would be comeback tour, “This Is It.” It’s a recession, ya’ll: We can’t waste cotton like that.
To be fair to Mike, he is the best to have ever done it. He can’t go out with a boring memorial. If I remember James Brown’s funeral correctly, it was one of the best concerts I had seen in years. Mike has to raise the bar!
I grew up watching Micheal and his brothers on TV, I was born in 1959. Micheal inspired me through the years with his singing and his dancing, THANK YOU Micheal, and I still can’t stop dancing, but my heart is broken by your going . If I could wish upon a star, it would be that you’d come back to us . I know your with God now, he who gave you as a gift. You we’re truly a blessing to us all. I love you and bless you! There will never be another like you ! My God hold you in his arms!

i am a mother of a 10 and 11 yr old, i am proud to say they are huge m.j. fan’s. like everyone else we feel like a piece of us has died. we can however rejoice in the memories and at anytime listen to any one of his songs and feel so happy- right down to our soul. God bless his family and children that he left behind. michael jacskon’s memory will ive on forever! This is the sadest turn of events EVER!!! ANYTHING to make money of Michael. This should not be happening, I fell to see the respect . How low down and shady. This isn’t about Michael Jackson. it is about the $$$$$.
I still am having a hard time believing Michael is gone. I’ve been a MJ fan since 1969. I have followed his career since then. I’ve been to 14 of his concerts in California and in New York. I have a treasure trove of MJ articles, magazines, T-shirts, books, calendars, posters (including a special poster I bought when I saw him in Germany), LP’s, the doll — and the list goes on and on. I even have a Michael Jackson drink in peach flavor I’ve had for 12 years. I have so many things, so many memories. I even called the hospital in Encino, California when his hair caught fire. The spirit of Michael will live on and on in the music world and in my heart. Twenty-five dollars is nothing to pay. I would pay that and more in a heartbeat. RIP Michael with Love.

WOW!!! the king of pop is gone but never forgotten god wanted him to go up there and dance for him and sing and get him back healthy so he can do those things maybe he will send him back down and come in our dreams… i hope he does i think everybody would he was a very speacial man and i hope his sons and daughters turn up to be like him. i havent stop crien yet evry time i see somthing on the tv or the computer about him i start to cry the other night i was listenin to “MAN IN THE MIRROR” and i just bust out crying even though im young i will always remember MICHAEL JACKSON!!!!

25.00 is nothin to go pay my respects to the greatest that has/will/and will EVER do it in the music business. If I could be there, I would pay that and more…love you MJJ, you can be at peace now!
You were the world’s greatest entertainer. You were one of God’s kind. You were the best king of POP. You truely embraced us with your music your style ,your legacy and your general demeanor.

One of my favorite songs is “YOU GIVE ME BUTTERFILIES” Michael that is what you are now a butterfly. I can just see you now smiling, spinning, singing, and just laughing up there in those clouds, now you can spread your pretty wings beautifully, and freely with no hurt, judgement, or pain. Michael soar like Peter Pan with one glove in your hand and our hearts in the other.
My heart is so, so heavy with deep sadness that you are “GONE TO SOON”.. We will keep your memory alive. People need to look at the “MAN IN THE MIRROR” (themselves) and let you finally have some peace.
