Paula Abdul Says Goodbye to American Idol

After months of speculation, Paula Abdul confirmed last night that she wont be returning to American Idol to be a judge on the ninth season of the show.
(Please don’t tell me this departure means another album! Rush, Rush away from the studio Paula.)
Abdul broke the news via Twitter:
“With sadness in my heart, I’ve decided not to return to #IDOL. I’ll miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all being a part of a show that I helped from day 1 become an international phenomenon.”
Abdul was known as the inspirational and encouraging judge who balanced out Simon Cowell’s biting criticisms and Randy Jackson’s constructive feedback laced with corny jokes.
The judge had her fair share of drama related to the show: there was the law-breaking contestant who claimed to be having a secret off-camera romance with her , the obsessed contestant who was found dead in a car not to far from Abdul’s home and who can forget the media frenzy Abdul caused when she appeared on the show incoherent and slurring like there was a lil something somehting in that red Coca-Cola cup on the judges table. Still there’s no denying that she was a huge part of the widly successful show. Fox news issued the following statment:
“Paula Abdul has been an important part of the ‘American Idol’ family over the last eight seasons and we are saddened that she has decided not to return to the show,” the statement read. “While Paula will not be continuing with us, she’s a tremendous talent and we wish her the best.”
(Straight Up Paula, no album. That would just be Cold Hearted)
Idol will begin taping segments for its ninth season this week with Randy, Simon and new judge Kara DioGuardi returning to the show, which will air in January.
Will you still tune in to Idol now that Paula’s gone?

Personally, it was clear to me that the show producers were trying to push Paula out when they hired the new judge, Kara. I suspected that Paula’s days were numbered. I really have no more desire to watch the show.
Damn so who is going to keep the peace when Simon go in on somebody! Ah welp I don’t watch the show anyway!
