I am a 43 yr old dark skin sista. My daughter is light skinned. The most beautiful girl I have ever seen in my life is blacker than the color black. Tameka will you please grow up, raise your children, and work on your self-esteem. You obviously have some problems. Usher what were you thinking? I highly suggest that you fight for sole custody of your children; if not, they are going to have Tameka’s twisted mind set.

Yes, this was just a coincidence.The author has a very clear misunderstanding.But, I hope Tameka moves on with her life and let Usher live his as well.But, in our community and also how we are viewed by people outside of our race.Sometime darker skin is a excuse for people to judge you differently from a light skin person.Even though we all are still african american.For instance, I have two siblings.I am only a shade lighter than both of them.My biological mother is mixed race.(Black&White).My father is all african american.I faced a little envy from my biological father and some of his family.Also from my my biological mother. The caucasian side chose to obsess over me and thought they were gonna make me heir to whatever they call it.All b/c my skin tone is a shade lighter than my other two siblings.Thank God I was raised by my granmom and we were poor.Money is not my run.I came to the conclusion.l was just born like everybody else in the world.I am nobody’s heir.I am grown and will live my life as I see fit wherever I choose in the world and work a minimun wage job.I don’t think I am to good to work a minium wage job.Sometimes you have no idea what kind of people you could be related to that you never met.But, I have a one of a kind upbringing with morals,honesty,humbleness,integrity and I am no better than nobody else in the world.Just a human being trying to live my life.Tameka, I suggest that you love yourself for who you are.Skin tone does not break or make you.Never let anyone have power over you.You are just as good as anyone else in the world regardless of your skintone.God made everybody.Just move on with your life.

I dont think that those two statments are conflicting. She is a black woman but like most of us she is mixed with other things as well. EVERYBODY IS MIXED WITH SOMETHING thats why we come in all shades.

Tamkeka gives conflicting statements. One says she’s completely African American and the other says she’s mixed. Which is it? I don’t know. This girl can’t seem to get her story straight!!!!!!!!

It is a fact that many African-Americans are often mixed with an array of other ethnicities (as am I), which allows for the spectrum of our features to be as distinctive and special as we are diverse. Why is it felt that the more diluted our traditionally African features become the more aesthetically acceptable we are considered? (Tameka says in Huffington Post for article)

I don’t think that it is fair that the author is trying to accuse her of plagarism with a topic that is so common in our community. The light skin/dark skin issue has been going on since slave days. The lighter slaves stayed in the house, while the darker ones worked out in the field. This author needs to stop trying to come at Tameka. Maybe she is trying to get her name out there and that’s why she is making the accusations….I mean Tameka IS NOT FAMOUS but i have heard of her before….what is that author’s name again???
