Weekend Fix: Oprah Checks Chris Brown Plus Janet Jackson and Lil’ Mama

Chris Brown has been all up in the news this week because of the interview he did with Larry King earlier this week to discuss Chrianna-gate, but Breezy also went head to head with another media mogul: Oprah.
In the new issue of People magazine, Chris stepped to Oprah when asked about her “show on abuse, inspired by Rihanna” and said:
“I commend Oprah on being like, ‘This is a problem,’ but it was a slap in my face I did a lot of stuff for her, like going to Africa and performing for her school. She could have been more helpful, like, ‘Okay, I’m going to help both of these people out.”
In response, Oprah’s rep told TMZ, “Oprah is very appreciative that Chris Brown performed at her school, but she takes domestic abuse very seriously. She hopes he gets the counseling he needs.”
How ironic that Chis called Oprah’s actions a “slap in the face!” Boy stop! Just because you were lucky enough to perform at one of her events doesn’t mean she owes you squat. Period. I wonder how many more media rounds Chris is going to make about before he gets too busy doing that hard labor.
Also, this Sunday a new episode of America’s Best Dance Crew will air on MTV, but last Sunday ‘Lil Mama sparked a bit of controversy because of comments she made to a transgender contestant, Leiomy Maldonado. When her group, Vogue Evolution, complained that Leiomy was being difficult at practice Lil’ Mama said:
“Leiomy, come on. Your behavior…it’s unacceptable. I just feel that you always have to remember your truth. You were born a man and you are becoming a woman. If you’re going to become a woman, act like a lady. Don’t be a bird, like ‘Oh my god, I’m not doing this!’ You know what I’m saying? It gets too crazy and it gets confusing.”
GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) received several complaints about Lil Mama’s comments and days later, Lil’ Mama issued a formal apology to GLAAD via a statement: “I would like to clarify anything that was misunderstood from Sunday’s show. My remarks were never meant to be disrespectful regarding Leiomy’s gender nor offensive to the LGBT community, which has been a community that has supported me in all my endeavors. However, in hindsight, I recognize that my words may have come across as hurtful. I spoke with her privately after the taping to express that it was not my intent to offend her or any member of the transgender community and that I still live for Vogue Evolution.”
Hopefully Lil’ Mama keeps it cute this weekend (and quiets down her loud outfits while she’s at it)!
Lastly, Michael Jackson was finally buried yesterday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park outside Los Angeles. Just one day before the family gathered to pay their respects, Janet Jackson went to Twitter to show her late brother love:
“I love you, Mike, and I miss you. Dunk.,” she Tweeted signing off with the nickname that Michael used to call her.
According to The YBF.com Janet is scheduled to speak on her brother’s death and updates in her life and career in an upcoming issue of Harper’s Bazaar.
Check out the video below of the MJ funeral service.
Have a great Labor Day weekend! We’ll be back next week!

i agree 100% with all this people on leave chris brown alone.i mean damn he made a mistake he admited to it and he apologized what more do you want? this makes me mad cause people act like rhianna wasnt in the wrong. im not justifiying the fact he beat her. but apparently she provoked everything that happened. i dont live to far from chris in va, and i know people that was cool with him & his mom & people said rhianna always wanted to argue & fight. so the media needs to get off his balls & so does oprah he is young what 20? you cant hold this over his head forever.
You don’t hit women. Period. You hate the sin, not the sinner. Period. A saint is just a sinner who fell and got up. Now, Chris has sinned. Chris is falling or has fell. He is getting back up. Oprah, support that. Oh wait, you only support what looks good on the cover of O magazine, i.e. things that make YOU look good. But wait, isn’t uplifting a person a good thing? Guess not, huh?
Chris was only saying,if oprah could have him singing at her school, why couldn’t she contact him,and hear his side of the story.instead of opening her big mouth, defending rihanna.if chris would have told the story on larry king live, rihanna modeling endorsement would be snatch, she’s glad he didn’t answer the question.Rihanna only told the side that was in her favor, somebody needs to tell the side, how she punch and slap chris with them big hands out of jealousy,Bon’t worry chris,God is going to reveal what really happen.America will be suprise.Some.Since oprah wants to be a judge, why are she fornicating.
well looks nice
First and foremost I’m sick of hearing about Chris and Rhianna…Women are abused everyday without any recourse or attention from the media. People let’s get our stuff together. The man apologized accepted responsibility and said he was wrong. What more do we want from him? While I am in no way approving his hitting her we’ve made him the villian and no one has spoken of the boyfriend who have come forward about the jealous fist fights and arguments with Rhianna. She is not as innocent as the media has tried to make her out to be. I have a problem with women who hit men and then cry bloody murder when they snap after months of verbal and physical abuse. Can you imagine what it’s like to relive your childhood with someone whose suppose to be your lover and friend, but gets jealous at ever turn. No he should have never hit her, but everybody has a breaking point and that night must have been his…As for Oprah, she has a habit of speaking out of term on issues that effect the black community she feels she can, but I’ve get news for YOU, you can’t. Like most media she reported and spoke on an issue before all the facts were in and instead of offering to help parties involved she acted on emotion. While, Oprah doesn’t owe Chris anything when she needed entertainment for her girls she didn’t hesitate to pick up the phone and call the same courtsey should have been extended. He is as much of a victim as Rhianna is if not more because judging from the Larry King interview Chris’ mom still hasn’t taken responsibility for not removing her children from mentally and physically abusive home. Without proper counseling it is a known fact that most victims of abuse become abusers themselves no matter how hard they try not to. And this is coming from someone who works with children everyday who go this and much worst as a licensed social worker. To all the Oprah’s, Jay-Z’s, etc’s… of the world remember before you start pointing fingers know all the facts, because he’s not alone in this abusive relationship and the evidence is now starting to come out.
I think that Oprah was wrong for not giving Chris any support either. I know she went through things as a child but she should have offered both of them help instead of Rihanna. He deserves support as well.
OPRAH I THINK YOU HAVE ENOUGH ON YOUR HANDS. YOUR RATINGS HAVE DROPPED TO THE LIMIT. IF YOU WANT YOUR RATINGS TO GO BACK UP. YOU NEED TO HAVE FAIR SHOWS. YES, CHRIS BROWN WAS WRONG AND HE HAS ADMITTED THAT. NOW IF YOU WANTED TO BE FAIR YOU SHOULD HAVE OFFER HIM SUPPORT JUST AS WELL AS YOU DID THE OTHER PARTY. BE CAREFUL ON HOW YOU TREAT PEOPLE. AND AS TO JAY-Z WHO ARE YOU TO TALK ABOUT ANYTHING. YOUR RATING ARE NOT AS GOOD EITHER.
I really feel that this whole situation has ruined Chris Brown career, but at the same token it has effected Rihanna as well. The best thing that any one can do is pray that they can get their carees back, they are both talented people.
No one was there to witness. He is not the first and wont be the last. He was rich thats all. Go after the regular, they do it everyday, and no purnishment. Boyfriends and girlfriends, especially young ones act a fool. i know i did. Give him a chance. Everyone deserve one.
i think that evrybocy should leave chris alone and let him go on with his life and his career. this happen 7 months ago why is they still taking about his all the time. leave him alone and let him do him.
OPRAH DID GREAT. YOU SUPERFANS NEED TO CHILL OUT HAVE U SEEN THAT PICTURE OF HER FACE. IF IT WERE YOUR MOTHER YOUD PROBABLY WANT HIM DEAD. MY MOTHER WAS ABUSED WHEN I WAS YOUNGER SO I KNOW HOW IT WORKS. HE DESERVED A LOT WORSE AND HE IS NO LONGER AN IDOL. HE SHOULD BACK AWAY RESPECTFULLY AND GO TO SCHOOL OR SOMETHING, BECAUSE HIS CAREER IS FINISHED. LARRY KING SEALED THE DEAL IT MADE HIM LOOK REAL DUMB. ON TV WITH IS BABY BLUE SWEATER AND BOW TIE TRYNA LOOK INNOCENT SHOWING NO REMORSE.TS A LOT OF FEMALES TAKING UP FOR HIM THAT ONLY WANT TO SLEEP WITH HIM. STOP IT PLEASE…ITS RIDICULOUS. IF YOUR A WOMAN HAVE SOME RESPECT FOR YOURSELF AND DONT LET SOMEONE BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF U AND THINK ITS A TURN ON.
I think that oprah should help him as well because it he needs help just as much as she does because maybe he just need someone to talk to him about what he did to her and maybe he want do that any more and if he say that he loves her.
hey no matter the situation, life goes on, so hey chris leave the life to the fullest and forget about this old rich motherless fool
NO SITUATION IS PERMANENT
If Chris Brown is so bad …Why is it that“““““““““`Rieanna has not come out and said she hates him , or how he hurt her , or that he is a monster!! She has said NOTHING 11 So why is it that Others want to judge him!! she hasn’t! We have not heard her say nothing !! Why !!????
I do think Chris needs some serious help. He admitted he made a mistake and he apologized but I think he doesn’t feel he has an issue with anger. To me that’s the sad part. He needs to deal with his anger before it gets out of control and before he hurts someone else. I still love and support Chris but I will be watching him very closely. As far as Oprah, she should have reached out to Chris as well because both he and Rihanna need counseling. Everybody is talking about Chris needing help because he is the abuser but the person that was abused (Rihanna) also needs to seek counseling as well. She needs to learn from this experience so that she doesn’t end up in another abusive relationship in the future. These things have long term effect on people. You can see that base on what happen with her and Chris.
chris was not good to do that to rihanan..
I’d like to share a very interesting place with you__ MatchWealthy.com __. It brings gorgeous girls and wealthy men together. After checking it,I saw a lot of celebrities there, including many Hollywood stars. It’s a great website to date a beautiful woman or handsome guy there.
I will keep Chris brown in my prayers. God is forgiving and so we should follow God’s example. The World will continue to punish him, but a higher power will guide his life in a very positive direction where he WILL LEARN from his mistakes and become a better person. Stay Strong Mr. Chris Brown
IF he has admitted to what he has done then he is taking responsibility for his own actions. Its not like he’s going around blaiming it on others. When a woman gets beat no one ever ask that woman what she might have done for him to hit her. Im not saying he was right for hitting her but lets look at what she might have done to set him off. It’s not all on him. It’s never right for a man to hit a woman nor is it ever right for a woman to hit a man. And Oprah doesns’t owe him anything but she could at least be thankful for the things he has done for her. Let’s show respect here people. I don’t feel that Chris Brown has an issue or there is anything wrong with him. Women get beat everyday. So do men. Everyone makes a big deal about a woman getting beat but when it comes down to a man getting beat people laugh. They don’t believe that that could even be true. All im saying is that Rihanna was wrong on her part to. But if he;s admitting to it then he’s not trying to justify his own actions. Simple as that.
HE WHO IS WITHOUT SIN, LET HIM CAST THE FIRST STONE. GOD SAID IF YOU CAN’T FORGIVE OTHERS. NEITHER WILL YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER FORGIVE YOU. KEEP THAT IN MIND. WHEN YOU POINT YOUR FINGERS AT OTHER’S….2 FINGERS ARE POINTING RIGHT BACK AT YOU.
